Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Physician Assistant at arenaflex, you will be at the forefront of patient care delivery in our retail health clinic setting. Your responsibilities will encompass both clinical and administrative functions, ensuring a seamless experience for every patient who walks through our doors.

Primary Clinical Responsibilities


  • Provide comprehensive primary care and family medicine services, including accurate assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic medical conditions

  • Conduct thorough health counseling and create anticipatory care plans tailored to each patient's unique needs

  • Perform wellness examinations and preventive health screenings

  • Administer vaccinations and injections, including but not limited to COVID-19, influenza, tuberculosis, and contraceptive injections

  • Provide evidence-based patient and parent immunization education and counseling

  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning

  • Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to maintain comprehensive, integrated care plans

  • Educate patients on healthy lifestyle choices, disease prevention, and self-management of chronic conditions

Administrative Responsibilities


  • Open and close the clinic facility as assigned

  • Manage inventory and ensure adequate supplies are available

  • Oversee patient flow to minimize wait times and maximize efficiency

  • Verify insurance coverage and collect payments as appropriate

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional clinic environment

  • Handle patient scheduling and appointment management

Patient Advocacy and Community Health

Qualifications and Requirements

Essential Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must meet the following requirements:


  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program (Master's degree level preferred)

  • Current National Board Certification (NCCPA or equivalent)

  • Valid State of Minnesota Physician Assistant license or ability to obtain licensure prior to start date

  • Minimum two years of clinically relevant experience in primary care, urgent care, or retail health setting

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, including proficiency in CPR and operation of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

  • Ability to pass a FIT test and wear appropriate respiratory protection when protocol requires

  • Complete the required onboarding certification testing within 30 days of employment

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with patients of all ages and backgrounds

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications will strengthen your application:


  • Previous student precepting experience in a retail health clinic or similar ambulatory setting

  • Ability to speak and write in additional languages, particularly Spanish (highly valued in our diverse patient population)

  • Experience with electronic health record systems

  • Background in chronic disease management and preventive care

  • Knowledge of community health resources and social determinants of health

Education Requirements

Candidates must possess one of the following educational credentials:


  • Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (or equivalent health-related Master's degree) from an accredited program, with current National Board Certification and valid State of Minnesota license to practice as a Physician Assistant

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience as approved by our credentialing department
