What You'll Do as a Senior Data Engineer

As a Senior Data Engineer at arenaflex, you'll be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining large-scale data processing systems that power our business intelligence and analytics capabilities. Your expertise will be crucial in transforming how our organization leverages data to drive growth and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect Data Solutions: Apply broad knowledge of technology choices, design patterns, and best practices across the Data Engineering ecosystem to build systems that address complex business problems. You'll design scalable data pipelines that can handle massive volumes of information while maintaining performance and reliability.
  • Build Enterprise Data Platforms: Construct robust systems and datasets using programming best practices, data management fundamentals, data storage principles, and the latest advancements in distributed systems. You'll ensure operational excellence through thoughtful system design and implementation.
  • Analyze Source Systems: Examine existing source systems, define critical data sources and transformation requirements, design logical data models, and document comprehensive specifications that guide implementation.
  • Drive Quality and Productivity: Demonstrate passion for quality and efficiency by employing professional development techniques, coding standards, and best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Effectively communicate with diverse teams and stakeholders, intelligently escalate technical and business issues, and resolve conflicts with diplomacy and skill.
  • Mentor and Lead: Peer review work, actively guide other team members, and help develop their skills, knowledge of our systems, and ability to deliver results. You'll be a technical leader who helps elevate the entire team's capabilities.
  • Document and Innovate: Create comprehensive technical documentation, design specifications, and architecture diagrams that serve as knowledge resources for the entire engineering organization.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need a strong foundation in software engineering and data system design. We're looking for professionals who bring hands-on experience and a proven track record of delivering complex data solutions.

  • Professional Experience: A minimum of 3+ years of full-time professional software development experience in enterprise environments. You should have a demonstrated ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
  • System Design Expertise: 3+ years of experience in design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability engineering, and scaling strategies. You should be comfortable making architectural decisions that impact system performance and maintainability.
