Position Overview

We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Information Researcher – Real-World Evidence to join our growing Clinical Data Science division. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for generating authentic evidence through advanced research and innovative methodologies in the clinical trials space. As a key member of our Scientific Projects team, you will have the opportunity to influence decision-making both internally and externally through the use of creative data science and technology.

This position offers the chance to conduct sophisticated data analysis to help address critical business questions and contribute to meaningful healthcare discoveries. You will report directly to the Executive Director of Clinical Data Science and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver insights that matter.

Key Responsibilities

Data Mining and Analysis: Mine raw data sets to deliver normalized, analysis-ready patient cohorts from internal data resources or licensed platforms, analyze and interpret results, and help shape comprehensive analysis strategies.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with various members of the arenaflex Clinical Trial teams to deliver meaningful insights from real-world, clinical, and other data sources to support biopharmaceutical RWE and clinical trial requests. Potential projects include analysis of unmet needs, safe and effective treatments in specific disease states, treatment patterns and healthcare economic burden, and cost-effectiveness modeling.

Data Management: Clean, transform, and store data into an integrated data lake for future analysis and broader team utilization, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.

Statistical Analysis: Perform data mining and statistical analysis to analyze RWE/RWD to discover new insights regarding patient populations and treatment outcomes.

Capability Development: Support the development of real-world data, analytics, and platform capabilities, applying advanced analysis and tools to answer scientific questions from biopharmaceutical organizations.

Research Design: Collaborate on design and execution of outcomes research studies, ensuring methodological rigor and scientific validity.

Quality Assurance: Ensure high-quality, thorough, and readily interpretable outputs from RWE reviews and investigations, maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and reliability.

Reporting and Visualization: Build dashboards, analyses, and reports for internal and external use, effectively communicating complex findings to diverse audiences.

Vendor Assessment: Conduct due diligence on new real-world data providers and vendors, and drive RWD quality assessments to inform project decisions.

Essential Qualifications

Statistical Expertise: Experience designing and executing robust and reproducible statistical analyses in the context of epidemiology and observational research with healthcare data.

Statistical Techniques: Knowledge of common statistical testing methods including generalized linear models, clustering and discrimination, decision trees, unsupervised learning, time series analysis, and survival analysis.

Big Data Experience: Experience processing large datasets from diverse data sources, demonstrating proficiency in handling complex data structures.

Data Privacy: Experience handling protected patient health information with the utmost confidentiality and in compliance with relevant regulations.

Analytics Tools: Knowledge of at least one of the following: SAS, Power BI, Alteryx, Spotfire, or other BI insight tools.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced Education: PhD or Master's degree in statistics/biostatistics, computer science, mathematics, systems engineering, biomedical engineering, or a related field.

Healthcare Data Expertise: Proficiency in EMR/Health IT, disease registries, and insurance claims databases.

Clinical Standards Knowledge: Expertise in clinical data standards, clinical terminologies, and controlled vocabularies used in healthcare data and ontologies (ICD9/10/ReadCode).

Regulatory Compliance: Experience in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) as well as regulatory compliance guidelines for real-world evidence studies or clinical trials (e.g., ISO, MDD/MDR, CFR).

Innovative Data Collection: Experience working on alternative data sources and alternative methods for clinical data collection, especially those enabled by technology platforms and/or solutions.

Advanced Analytics Skills: Experience with experimental design, Bayesian modeling, sequential data, and computational statistics.

Continuous Learning: Understanding of statistics and machine learning methods, with the ability to pursue self-learning of both technical and non-technical skills.
