The arenaflex Data Science and Insights (DSI) division is the analytical powerhouse behind The Walt arenaflex Company. Our team supports clients across all major business segments, including arenaflex Parks, Experiences and Products (encompassing both domestic and international parks and resorts, consumer products, and arenaflex Mark Experiences), as well as the arenaflex Entertainment segment (which includes Studios Content with the arenaflex Dramatic Group, General Entertainment Content, and arenaflex Sports Content).

DSI leverages cutting-edge technology, data analysis, optimization techniques, and statistical and econometric modeling to uncover opportunities, shape business decisions, and drive measurable business value. What You'll Do

As a Data Engineer on the DSI team, you will be responsible for collaborating with Decision Science Products, Decision Science, Client, and Technology colleagues on various development and sustainment projects, ad-hoc requests, prototyping, and research initiatives. Your primary focus will be providing robust data pipeline and database engineering services that empower our teams to deliver insights at scale.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Data Pipeline Development: Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT data pipelines that efficiently move and transform data from source systems to destination data warehouses and analytical environments.

  • Data Acquisition & Integration: Maintain and enhance data acquisition processes, ensuring seamless integration of data from multiple internal and external sources.

  • Data Validation: Develop and implement data validation processes and scripts to ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency across all datasets.

  • Database Design: Design and implement database schemas, tables, views, and other database objects optimized for performance and analytical workloads.

  • Process Automation: Develop and maintain automated workflow schedulers to ensure reliable and timely data processing.

  • Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

  • Source-to-Target Mapping: Create comprehensive source-to-target mappings that document data flow and transformation logic.

  • Data Visualization Support: Prepare and deliver datasets that serve as inputs for science models, visualizations, and analytical dashboards.

  • Documentation & Monitoring: Develop and maintain documentation for data pipelines, processes, and data lineage. Implement monitoring solutions to proactively identify and address data quality issues.

Technologies You'll Use:

You'll work with a modern technology stack that includes:


  • SQL (primarily Snowflake and PostgreSQL) for data manipulation and database management

  • Python for scripting, data transformation, and pipeline development

  • Docker for containerization and deployment

  • GitLab for version control and collaborative development

  • Airflow for workflow orchestration and scheduling

  • Cloud Platforms (preferably AWS) for cloud-based data infrastructure

What We're Looking For

Basic Qualifications:


  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field (advanced degree preferred)

  • Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience in ELT/ETL data pipeline development and sustainment

  • Technical Skills: Proven expertise in Python and SQL, with preference for experience using Snowflake

  • Development Environment: Experience developing in multi-environment setups (Development, QA, Staging, Production) and familiarity with DevOps methodologies for code organization and deployment

  • Automation: Experience developing and maintaining automated workflow schedulers

  • Database Knowledge: Strong understanding of relational database design, normalization, and query optimization

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Big Data Experience: Experience working with large-scale datasets and big data technologies, preferably in cloud-based environments such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar platforms

  • Cloud Expertise: Proficiency in cloud architecture and product offerings, with strong preference for AWS experience

  • Version Control: Experience managing and deploying code using source control systems like GitLab or GitHub

  • Containerization: Hands-on experience with Docker for application containerization

  • Data Modeling: Experience with dimensional modeling and data warehousing best practices

  • API Development: Familiarity with RESTful API design and integration
