In this pivotal role, you will have the opportunity to leverage advanced analytics, experimentation, and causal inference to grow digitally enabled products within the arenaflex Media Exchange business unit. You will be instrumental in transforming raw data into actionable insights that improve the health and well-being of millions of customers.

The arenaflex Media Exchange is dedicated to driving measurable results for our providers, dealers, stores, general managers, brand sponsors, and agencies. Our full-channel advertising solutions leverage arenaflex's extensive physical and digital footprint to provide quantifiable outcomes for our customers. As a team supporting enterprise products (including the Media Exchange and the arenaflex.com/mobile application), you will be exposed to all specialty units within the organization. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams to understand their challenges, analyze customer journeys, and develop sophisticated targeting models.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Data Scientist at arenaflex, you will act as a strategic partner, using your technical expertise to solve complex business problems. Your daily activities will include:

• Building Predictive Models: Develop and apply modern Machine Learning techniques to build predictive models for both classification and regression problems, helping to forecast trends and user behaviors.


• Advanced Experimentation: Design, execute, and analyze online A/B tests to measure the impact of new features. You will also employ causal inference methods and Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM) to optimize tests where traditional A/B testing isn't feasible.


• Data Analysis & Insight Generation: Analyze structured and unstructured data to solve diverse and complex business issues. Utilize strong programming skills (Python & SQL) to explore, interpret, and visualize large volumes of data in various formats.


• Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with product managers, engineers, and marketing teams to understand their goals. Translate complex technical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for technical, non-technical, and senior leadership audiences.


• Feature Engineering: Prepare data for analysis by collaborating with data engineering teams to create modeling datasets, assessing data quality, and performing feature engineering to improve model accuracy.


• Continuous Innovation: Stay current with industry trends, new algorithms, and statistical techniques to continuously improve arenaflex's analytical capabilities.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must possess a strong foundation in data science and a proven track record of applying theory to practice in a business setting.

• Experience: A minimum of 3+ years of experience applying modern Machine Learning techniques to build predictive models.


• Technical Proficiency: 3+ years of hands-on experience with Python and SQL.


• Data Storytelling: 2+ years of experience extracting meaningful insights from complex model analysis and presenting results to business audiences, including senior leadership.


• Data Engineering: 2+ years of experience preparing data for analysis, working with data engineering teams to create datasets, and performing feature engineering.


• Analytical Tools: 2+ years of experience applying knowledge of advanced analytical tools and languages to analyze large datasets from disparate sources.


• Methodology: 2+ years of experience in experimental design and supervised/unsupervised Machine Learning approaches.


• Education: A Graduate degree (Master's or PhD) or equivalent work experience in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Physics, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Deep expertise in mathematical analysis, statistical modeling, experimental design, and predictive modeling, with specialization in specific areas such as Causal Inference or Personalization.

This position follows a hybrid work plan, allowing you to leverage the flexibility of remote work while collaborating in person. You will be located in our New York City office and are expected to commute 3 days per week on a bi-weekly basis to foster innovation and team connection.

Compensation & Benefits

We value our employees and believe in rewarding their contributions. The estimated salary range for this position is between $106,605 and $206,000 annually. The actual base pay offer will depend on experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors. This role is also eligible for arenaflex bonuses, commissions, or short-term incentive programs.
