What You'll Do
As a Senior Aircraft Maintenance Engineer at arenaflex, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our aircraft fleet. Your responsibilities will span a wide range of technical and interpersonal activities, including:
- Training and Mentorship: Conduct specialized training sessions for Engineers in your area(s) of expertise. You'll serve as a mentor to other Engineers, sharing your knowledge and helping them develop their technical skills. Additionally, you'll lead project management initiatives and facilitate issue resolution as a team leader.
- Regulatory Compliance: Collaborate with manufacturers and regulatory authorities as required, ensuring that Engineering practices are properly validated according to applicable regulations and Company manuals. You'll maintain compliance with all relevant aviation authority requirements.
- Technical Documentation: Develop customized procedures and special instructions for repairs, modifications, inspections, adjustments, and other maintenance activities that are not adequately addressed in existing manuals. You'll prepare Engineering documents to implement technical practices that align with departmental and organizational objectives.
- Operational Support: Stay informed about daily airline operations within your field of responsibility. Review daily needs according to aircraft and departmental targets, and provide Engineering support for discrepant situations affecting aircraft or parts to restore operational status.
- Issue Analysis and Resolution: Analyze aircraft and component issues that may cause flight delays or cancellations, significant expenditures in labor or materials, or breaks in maintenance activities. Determine appropriate corrective actions and coordinate with other departments to implement solutions efficiently.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Respond to requests from Maintenance and other airline departments when technical support is needed to assist operations or resolve issues. Coordinate with other airline divisions as needed to ensure effective and efficient execution of Engineering practices.
- Project Management: Develop action plans for fleet or multi-fleet and component Engineering projects, and pursue definitive resolutions according to assessed needs. Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
- Continuous Learning: Stay current with evolving regulations and industry developments that affect your areas of responsibility. Use available resources to increase levels of technical expertise and practical experience. Improve communication skills, time management, and other personal attributes relevant to maximum effectiveness and efficiency in performing assigned duties.
- Team Engagement: Actively engage with front-line colleagues and management to foster a collaborative work environment. Build strong relationships across departments to promote knowledge sharing and operational excellence.
Minimum Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you'll need to bring a combination of education, experience, and technical expertise:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related Engineering discipline from an accredited institution
- Minimum of one (1) year of Engineering experience in a related field, OR
- Two (2) years of experience in a related field without a degree (in lieu of formal education)
- Current Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license issued by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
Preferred Qualifications
While the following are not required, they will help you stand out as an ideal candidate:
- Experience in airline maintenance engineering or military equivalent
- Knowledge of aircraft manufacturer's technical manuals and documentation systems
- Familiarity with FAA regulations and industry standards (FAR Part 43, Part 145, etc.)
- Experience with fleet management and component reliability programs
- Background in continuous airworthiness management

You'll need to effectively connect with internal and external stakeholders, including maintenance personnel, management, manufacturers, and regulatory authorities.
- Adaptability: The aviation industry is constantly evolving, and you'll need to demonstrate fitness, ability, and readiness to take on new roles and responsibilities as organizational needs change.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead teams, facilitate projects, and mentor junior Engineers. You should be comfortable taking initiative and driving results.
- Attention to Detail: Precision is paramount in aviation maintenance. You'll need to maintain meticulous attention to detail in all technical documentation and compliance activities.
- Time Management: The ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment is essential.
