Position Overview


As a Lead Data Scientist at arenaflex, you will be responsible for driving data science initiatives that enhance business productivity, improve operational efficiencies, and deliver exceptional customer experiences. You will play a pivotal role in developing our advanced analytics infrastructure that empowers leaders across the organization to make informed, data-backed decisions.

This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and leadership capabilities. Key Responsibilities

Analytics Solution Development (30%)



  • Design and develop sophisticated algorithms and statistical models to analyze large datasets and extract meaningful business insights

  • Apply advanced analytical methodologies, including predictive modeling, machine learning, and statistical analysis techniques

  • Create robust data pipelines and automation frameworks to support ongoing analytical needs

  • Communicate complex technical findings clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership

  • Translate analytical insights into actionable recommendations and drive implementation across business units

  • Ensure analytical solutions align with business objectives and deliver measurable value

Project Management and Team Leadership (25%)



  • Lead and manage large-scale, complex data science projects and cross-functional teams

  • Provide strategic guidance on project prioritization and ensure high-quality deliverables

  • Mentor and coach junior and mid-level data scientists, fostering their technical and professional development

  • Collaborate with team leads and executives to allocate resources effectively and meet project milestones

  • Contribute to staffing decisions and participate actively in the recruitment and hiring process

  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for one or more data science methodologies, including both predictive and prescriptive analytics

  • Lead data science communities of practice across multiple business units and specialty areas

Business Collaboration (20%)



  • Apply deep business domain knowledge to shape analytical strategies and solution approaches

  • Build strong relationships and foster collaboration with internal clients and cross-functional teams

  • Provide technical guidance and training on advanced analytics methodologies to the broader data science community

  • Partner with IT teams to evaluate emerging tools and technologies that can enhance technical capabilities

  • Proactively identify new business opportunities where data science can create competitive advantage

  • Act as a trusted advisor to business partners, translating their challenges into data-driven solutions

Technical Innovation and Development (25%)



  • Stay current with emerging trends and best practices in data science by attending conferences, publishing research, and participating in professional communities

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of data science practices through development of reusable solutions, including packaged data products, project documentation, and process flowcharts

  • Define best practices and develop a clear vision for data analysis and model productionalization

  • Own and maintain the library of reusable algorithms and models for future initiatives

  • Ensure all developed code and models are properly documented and version-controlled

  • Develop expertise in one or more advanced prescriptive modeling techniques, such as optimization, computer vision, recommendation systems, search algorithms, or natural language processing (NLP)

Qualifications and Requirements

Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field (Master's degree preferred)

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

  • Demonstrated expertise in predictive modeling, data mining, and advanced data analysis

  • Strong proficiency with statistical techniques and methodologies to identify key insights that solve business problems

  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL

  • Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and cloud computing platforms

Preferred Qualifications



  • Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or related field

  • 5+ years of professional experience in data science or advanced analytics roles

  • Experience in retail, e-commerce, or consumer goods industries

  • Proven track record of leading data science projects from conception to deployment

Compensation and Benefits

Physical and Travel Requirements
