Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Information Researcher (Data Scientist) to serve as an internal expert, responsible for applying statistics, mathematics, business acumen, and computer science concepts to gather, organize, analyze, summarize, and interpret data. In this role, you will develop data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or innovation products that create competitive advantages for the organization by driving meaningful insights and decisions that support descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive business needs.

As a Data Scientist at arenaflex, you will join our Data Science and Automation Group with a specific focus on products for partners in Technical Operations and Technical Operations Supply Chain Management. The products in these spaces are designed to transition reactive maintenance to proactive maintenance while providing enhanced efficiencies in the processes affecting maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities

As a Data Scientist at arenaflex, you will be responsible for driving moderate to complex data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or innovation projects. You will work closely with partners to understand business problems quickly and define, analyze, and communicate solutions based on business objectives. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Data Science Project Leadership: Lead and drive moderate to complex data science projects from inception to completion, collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand analytical issues and define effective solutions.


• Statistical Analysis and Modeling: Apply mathematics, statistics, and modeling techniques to create solutions that can be utilized in descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analysis.


• Model Maintenance and Support: Support the ongoing effectiveness and accuracy of models currently in use by partners, ensuring consistent performance and reliability.


• Solution Development: Drive the definition and communication of solutions for data analysis and models, presenting findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.


• Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of analytical intelligence by collaborating with and adding value to the arenaflex data science community.


• Business Alignment: Work with business partners to identify opportunities where data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence can drive value and competitive advantage.


• Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, including executive leadership, ensuring alignment and support for data-driven initiatives.


• Additional Duties: Perform other work responsibilities as directed by the team and organizational leadership.

Required Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications:

• Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field. Advanced degrees are a plus but not required.
• Experience Level: Mid-level experience in data science, machine learning, or artificial intelligence projects with demonstrated ability to handle moderate complexity.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of statistics and mathematical concepts, including probability, regression, hypothesis testing, and experimental design.
• Statistical Methods: Intermediate knowledge of descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive statistical techniques and their applications in business contexts.
• Project Lifecycle: Understanding of the data science project lifecycle, including engaging stakeholders to define problems, solution definition, project planning, and execution.
• Technology Platforms: General knowledge of how technology platforms and frameworks apply to data science, including cloud computing, big data technologies, and ML frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications will give you an edge in this role:

• Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field.


• Experience in the airline, transportation, or logistics industry.


• Knowledge of maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) processes.


• Familiarity with supply chain management and inventory optimization.


• Experience with predictive maintenance modeling and condition-based monitoring.


• Certifications in relevant data science or machine learning frameworks.

Compensation and Benefits
