- *Job Summary**
As an Airport Operations Crew member, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to clients at the airport. This includes checking in and confirming clients' identification, labeling, lifting, and handling client baggage, booking, selling, and checking flight reservations, meeting and assisting with flight arrivals and departures, planning airplane seating for takeoff, facilitating client loading and unloading, and assisting clients with special needs. You will also be required to work in a fast-paced environment, using technology and airport equipment to provide efficient and effective service.
- *Key Responsibilities**
- Check clients' identification and verify their travel documents
- Label, lift, and handle client baggage
- Report flight arrivals, departures, and pre-loading data through the public location framework
- Communicate with clients to keep them informed and provide exceptional service
- Offer additional services to clients, such as "more speed" and "more space"
- Coordinate with colleagues and other departments to ensure seamless service delivery
- Assist with planning airplane seating for client loading and takeoff, including cleaning of seats, seat-pockets, and floor
- Operate airport equipment, such as client enplaning/deplaning equipment, such as Stream span, Super way, airstairs, etc.
- Assist clients with special needs, such as clients who require assistance with boarding
- Perform and pivot through all airport operations-related capabilities (gate, ticket counter, etc.)
- Other duties as assigned
- *Essential Qualifications**
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- At least 18 years of age
- One year of customer service or sales experience
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
- Ability to complete a customer service evaluation
- Familiarity with the JetBlue Uniform Strategy Manual Principles
- Ability to work variable hours, including weekends and holidays
- Experience using a mouse, PC, keyboard, and basic word processing, email, and office applications
- Ability to use handheld radios and receivers to communicate with operations and make terminal announcements
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) ID
- Experience performing under pressure and within tight timeframes
- Depending on the location, may be required to have and maintain a valid Driver's Permit and a driving record that meets JetBlue Aviation's safety guidelines
- Depending on the location, may be required to obtain and maintain a US Customs Permit
- Available for occasional short-term travel (10%)
- Legally qualified to work in the country in which the position is located
- Approval to work in the US is required; this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
- Pass a pre-employment drug test
- *Preferred Qualifications**
- Two years of customer service, volunteer, or sales experience
- Knowledge of customer service standards and practices
- Experience working with different types of payment (cash, credit cards, traveler's checks, etc.)
- Past carrier experience
- Bilingual abilities

- Ability to work adaptable hours, including weekends, holidays, and short-term shifts
- Willingness to make occasional trips to different locations for training or brief tasks
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance
- While working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and when time allows, all able Crewmembers are expected to assist with light cleaning of the airplane

- *Compensation**
The base salary for this position begins at $15.00.
