Position Overview: Customer Engineer, AI/ML – Healthcare & Life Sciences
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Customer Engineer specializing in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to join our dynamic Technical Sales team. In this pivotal role, you will serve as a subject matter expert in machine learning, helping prospective customers and partners understand the immense capabilities of arenaflex Cloud. You will be responsible for differentiating arenaflex Cloud in the marketplace by showcasing our technical superiority, guiding customers through architecture design, and solving complex technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities
As a Customer Engineer at arenaflex Cloud, you will play a critical role in driving business growth while delivering exceptional technical guidance to our customers. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Business Opportunity Development: Work collaboratively with the sales team to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand key customer technical objections, and develop strategic approaches to resolve technical blockers that stand in the way of successful implementations.
- Technical Customer Engagement: Provide deep machine learning expertise to support and strengthen technical relationships with arenaflex Cloud customers. This includes delivering product and solution briefings, leading proof-of-concept initiatives, and partnering directly with product management teams to prioritize solutions that significantly impact customer adoption and success.
- Demonstration & Prototyping: Work closely with customers to demonstrate and prototype arenaflex Cloud product integrations in their specific environments. You will showcase how our AI/ML capabilities can address their unique business challenges and deliver measurable outcomes.
- Architecture & Integration Strategy: Recommend comprehensive integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to implement complete solutions using arenaflex Cloud best practices. Ensure that all recommended solutions are scalable, secure, and optimized for performance.
- Hardware Platform Collaboration: Assist customers in leveraging specialized Machine Learning hardware developed by arenaflex (including Tensor Processing Units). Work directly with product development teams to shape and influence the future direction of this hardware platform based on customer feedback and real-world use cases.
- Travel & Event Participation: Travel to customer sites, industry conferences, and other related events as needed to build relationships, deliver presentations, and represent arenaflex Cloud at key industry gatherings.
- Thought Leadership: Stay current with emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the cloud and IT technology space. Share insights and best practices with customers and internal teams to position arenaflex Cloud as the thought leader in AI/ML solutions.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you must bring a strong technical background combined with exceptional customer-facing skills. We are looking for candidates who meet the following minimum requirements:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience demonstrating technical proficiency.
- Industry Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience as a pre-sales engineer at an enterprise technology company, or in a similar customer-facing technical role where you have demonstrated the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value.
- Executive Communication: Proven experience engaging with and presenting to technical stakeholders and executive leaders. You must be comfortable navigating both technical and business discussions and tailoring your messaging to diverse audiences.
- Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with big data, machine learning, and numerical programming frameworks. Demonstrated proficiency in at least one or more of the following: TensorFlow, Python, MATLAB, or similar ML development environments.
- Healthcare/Life Sciences Background: Familiarity with the unique technical challenges and regulatory considerations in the Healthcare and Life Sciences (HCLS) industry is highly valued.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications will help you stand out and excel in this role:
- Advanced Education: Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Machine Learning Specialization: Direct experience building machine learning solutions and leveraging specific machine learning architectures, including deep learning, Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks, convolutional neural networks, and other advanced ML models.
- Scalable Systems Experience: Experience in architecting and developing software or infrastructure for scalable, distributed systems. Understanding of microservices architecture, containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), and cloud-native development practices.
- Data Management Expertise: Experience in data and information management as it relates to big data trends and issues within businesses. Understanding of data pipelines, ETL processes, and data governance frameworks.
- Adaptability & Learning Agility: An innate ability to learn quickly, understand, and work with new emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the rapidly evolving cloud and IT technology space.
- Industry Certifications: Relevant certifications in cloud platforms, machine learning, or data engineering (e.g., arenaflex Professional Machine Learning Engineer, arenaflex Cloud Architect).

Compensation & Benefits
We offer a comprehensive and competitive compensation package designed to attract, retain, and reward top talent. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $139,000-$213,000, plus eligibility for bonus, equity, and benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location, and we ensure equitable compensation based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
