What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities

As a Cargo Agent, you'll be an integral member of our ground operations team, working collaboratively with colleagues who share a common purpose: ensuring exceptional cargo handling and customer service. Ground Support Equipment Operation

• Safely and proficiently operate a variety of ground support equipment including tugs, forklifts, and tow tractors to move cargo and mail throughout the airport facility


• Navigate equipment operation in congested areas, demonstrating spatial awareness and precision control


• Perform pre-operation equipment inspections to ensure all machinery is in safe working condition


• Adhere to all safety protocols while operating equipment under time constraints

Cargo Handling and Processing

• Load, unload, and transport cargo and mail to and from aircraft with accuracy and care


• Properly lift, carry, and load shipments onto carts, ensuring each item reaches its designated destination


• Protect cargo and mail from damage, loss, and adverse weather conditions


• Verify that all shipments are correctly routed by operating scanners and computer systems


• Maintain accountability for on-time shipments and meet tight deadline requirements

Safety and Compliance

• Consistently practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational procedures and techniques


• Follow all regulatory guidelines and company policies related to cargo handling


• Maintain awareness of surroundings to ensure personal safety and the safety of colleagues


• Wear all required company-authorized personal protective equipment (PPE) including hearing protection, safety-toe shoes, protective headwear, and high-visibility clothing


• Successfully complete all required training programs and certifications

Operational Flexibility

• Work flexible shifts including weekends, holidays, and varying schedules (20-40 hours per week)


• Perform duties in all weather conditions, both outdoors and inside warehouse facilities


• Handle physical tasks involving bending, stooping, twisting, standing, and walking throughout shift


• Execute repetitive tasks with attention to detail and consistency

What You Need to Succeed: Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age


• High school diploma, GED, or High School Equivalency


• Valid driver's license with clean driving record


• Ability to safely operate forklift, baggage tug, and tow tractor


• Strong English language skills (oral and written) with ability to understand and follow instructions


• Basic computer skills for operating scanning and tracking systems


• Ability to pass post-offer pre-employment drug test


• Must pass physical ability test (PAT) demonstrating capability to perform job duties


• Ability to obtain and maintain airport badge with customs seal


• Must pass extensive post-offer pre-employment background check including fingerprinting and criminal records check as required by federal law


• Legal authorization to work in the United States


• Where applicable by law, must have received or be willing to receive COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire

Physical Requirements

• Ability to regularly lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds


• Capability to occasionally lift and carry items weighing between 50 and 70 pounds


• Physical ability to perform repetitive tasks including bending, stooping, twisting, standing, and walking for extended periods


• Ability to work in diverse climates, both outdoors and inside warehouse environments


• Willingness to work fixed and/or rotating schedules including afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays
