Position Overview
As a Senior Data Engineer at arenaflex, you will be responsible for designing and implementing data products and features in close collaboration with product owners, data analysts, and business partners. You will contribute to the overall architecture, frameworks, and standards for processing and evaluating big data, ensuring that our data infrastructure remains robust, scalable, and efficient.

Key Responsibilities
- Data Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain highly scalable and efficient distributed data processing pipelines using tools and languages prevalent in the big data ecosystem, including Apache Spark, Hive, and Python.
- Architecture Contribution: Participate in defining and implementing the overall data architecture, frameworks, and standards that govern how data is processed, stored, and accessed across the organization.
- Technology Evaluation: Research and evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks in the big data space, providing recommendations for adoption that can improve performance, reduce costs, or enhance capabilities.
- Backlog Translation: Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to translate product backlog items into logical units of engineering work, ensuring clear requirements and realistic timelines.
- Framework Development: Build and enhance tools, user-defined functions, libraries, and frameworks to better enable data flow patterns and streamline common data processing tasks.
- Quality Assurance: Create and participate in automated unit testing and integration testing to ensure code quality and reliability of data pipelines.
- CI/CD Implementation: Use and extend continuous integration and deployment frameworks to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering leads and other teams to ensure quality solutions are implemented and technical best practices are defined and followed.
- Troubleshooting & Analysis: Troubleshoot complex data issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective measures to maintain data integrity and system performance.
- Operational Excellence: Work in teams to resolve operational and performance issues, ensuring high availability and reliability of data systems.
Essential Qualifications
- Educational Background: Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- Professional Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or a computer-related position involving big data technologies.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience with:
- Apache Spark for distributed data processing
- Hive for data warehousing and queries
- Python programming for data manipulation and pipeline development
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud platform
