In this role, you'll be at the forefront of transforming our end-to-end Voice of the Customer (VoC) program, working with cutting-edge big data technologies to deliver actionable insights that directly impact business decisions and customer satisfaction. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product owners, data engineers, and business stakeholders, to build robust data architectures that support millions of customer surveys annually.

About the Voice of Customer Program

Our Customer Listening Team manages one of the most comprehensive customer feedback programs in the industry. With over 5 million surveys received from clients each year across our Consumer, Business, and Service Provider segments, we handle a massive volume of data that drives strategic decisions throughout the organization. Our surveys are translated into over 10 languages and deployed in more than 20 countries, making this a truly global initiative.

As the Senior Data Architect, you'll play a pivotal role in modernizing and scaling our VoC infrastructure to meet the growing demands of our global customer base. You'll work with our survey platform partner, Qualtrics, and leverage big data technologies to ensure data quality, accuracy, and timely delivery of insights.

Key Responsibilities

As a key member of our data architecture team, you will:


  • Lead the development and maintenance of our next-generation Voice of Customer data infrastructure, sourced from Cornerstone and integrated with the Qualtrics survey and dashboard platform.

  • Collaborate closely with product and process owners to define, design, and implement data solutions that meet evolving business requirements.

  • Build robust data models and architectures that support optimal data processing, standardized metric definitions, and scalable analytics workflows.

  • Design and implement big data solutions using transformational technologies including Hadoop, HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, Spark, and Python to deliver innovative analytics capabilities.

  • Ensure data quality and accuracy through intensive testing at variable and use-case levels, implementing validation frameworks and monitoring controls.

  • Provide technical guidance to enhance competencies and drive efficiency in computing programs using the big data ecosystem.

  • Lead consumer story analysis and elaboration, including the design and development of software programs and automation tools.

  • Proactively identify opportunities to automate manual processes, improving quality and operational efficiency across the team.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams from various business units to prioritize, define, develop, and test data solutions for diverse use cases within the VoC program.

  • Translate complex business requirements into technical specifications and ensure successful implementation of data solutions.

  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge sharing and best practices development within the data engineering community.

Required Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:


  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in big data development using Hive/Hadoop, PySpark, Python, and Shell scripting languages.

  • Proven expertise in data-driven projects with a track record of delivering complex data solutions at scale.

  • Strong collaboration skills with experience working directly with product owners and stakeholders to understand functional requirements and convert them into technical deliverables.

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience delivering solutions in incremental sprints.

  • Experience with survey platforms and customer feedback systems is a plus, though not required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field (or equivalent practical experience).

Preferred Skills and Competencies

While not required, the following skills would make you an ideal candidate:


  • Experience with Qualtrics or similar survey platforms

  • Knowledge of real-time and batch processing architectures

  • Understanding of data governance and data quality frameworks

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences

  • Experience in the financial services or payments industry
