Position Overview

As the Inventory Network Systems Manager, you will be responsible for the support and enhancements of the Distribution Center Management System, as well as serving as the local contact between the Centralized Computer and Application Development departments. You will work closely with the Company/Telecom departments and the Technology Office to coordinate, analyze, and present physical infrastructure that supports the DC where appropriate, as well as administer and support processing of all moves/add/change requests.

Key Responsibilities


  • System Administration & Support: Maintain and enhance the Distribution Center Management System, ensuring 99.9% uptime and optimal performance for all end users across warehouse operations.

  • Cross-Functional Liaison: Act as the primary local contact between Centralized Computer and Application Development departments, facilitating communication and project coordination.

  • Infrastructure Management: Work closely with Company/Telecom departments and the Technology Office to coordinate, analyze, and present physical infrastructure requirements that support distribution center operations.

  • Vendor Coordination: Contact Material Handling Equipment (MHE) vendors as it relates to data processing and system integration.

  • Technology Integration: Work with all smart devices including Sortation Control Systems to ensure seamless warehouse operations.

  • Data Management: Coordinate all data backups and data recovery procedures to ensure business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities.

  • Issue Resolution: Serve as the bridge between warehouse operations, WMS vendor, and MIS Division for efficient problem resolution and system optimization.

  • Hardware Support: Support all data processing equipment including printers, terminals, and peripheral devices throughout the distribution center.

  • Network Administration: Support LAN (Local Area Network) architecture and coordinate with network teams for warehouse connectivity.

  • Software Deployment: Implement all future releases of software, including testing, training, and rollout coordination.

  • Inventory Control: Coordinate inventory tracking of in-stock supplies including forms, strips, and other materials, reporting usage to MIS.

  • Team Leadership: Supervise nonexempt staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.

  • Security Administration: Maintain all control tables within the WMS including access security and user permissions.

  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor the performance of the system application to ensure it is ready and available to all end users.

  • Peripheral Management: Manage the peripheral connections with the WMS including Neoware Terminals, RF Devices, and Printers.

  • Compliance Reporting: Manage and monitor end user access and rights, reporting to the SOX Compliance Office on a quarterly basis.

  • Reporting & Analytics: Develop reporting instruments for clients to have better visibility into the WMS and Operational Metrics, whether through Crystal Reports or Cognos Report Studio.

Required Qualifications


  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • Technical Experience: 2+ years of IT Experience including Windows, Unix, SQL Server, Oracle, and related enterprise systems.

  • Distribution Operations: 2+ years of experience in a delivery/distribution environment preferred.

  • Technical Skills: 2+ years of Experience with using SQL, MS-Excel, Access and Project and MS-Word.

  • Location: Must be local to Somerset, New Jersey area – this position is on-site, not remote.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Project Management: Project management experience is a strong plus.

  • Advanced Education: Bachelor's Degree in IT concentration preferred.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.

  • Technical Certifications: Relevant certifications in WMS, SQL, or project management (PMP, CSM) are advantageous.
  • Healthcare Industry Experience: Background in healthcare or pharmaceutical distribution is a bonus.
