Position Overview
As a Remote Pharmacist - Centralized Services Specialist at arenaflex, you will be responsible for executing medical service methodologies and driving exceptional patient wellbeing results. You will play a critical role in implementing patient intervention pharmacy programs and ensuring compliance with clinical pharmacy services standards. You will be accountable for executing against established pharmacy programs and driving pharmacy financial performance by implementing initiatives that maximize reimbursements while simultaneously improving patient health outcomes. This role requires someone who can balance clinical excellence with business acumen, all while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
As a key member of our centralized pharmacy services team, you will:
- Implement Direct Patient Care Programs: Execute comprehensive patient care initiatives including Drug Therapy Management programs, Vaccination Services, and Payer and Pharma Adherence and Clinical Programs. You'll work directly with patients to optimize their medication regimens and ensure they receive the maximum benefit from their prescribed therapies.
- Drive Policy Implementation: Lead the execution of various policies and operations to ensure business needs are being met while maintaining our commitment to exceptional patient care. You'll be responsible for translating organizational goals into actionable strategies that benefit both patients and the organization.
- Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Drive compliance and continuous quality improvement in the delivery of clinical pharmacy patient care and services by researching, evaluating, and redesigning processes; monitoring and analyzing results; and implementing necessary changes. You'll ensure that all pharmacies comply with regulatory compliance, standard operating procedures, and FDA guidelines.
- Optimize Financial Performance: Drive local pharmacy financial performance by aligning business strategies with company financial goals. Implement and execute patient intervention pharmacy programs to maximize financial performance while never compromising on patient care quality.
- Enhance Patient Experience: Support efforts on improving patient experience by increasing focus on healthcare services including patient consultation, medication management, drug therapy reviews, and retail, clinical, or health services such as vaccinations, illness state management, and Specialty programs.
- Provide Expert Guidance: Offer expertise, resources, education, and support to pharmacists and field leadership. Support staff training experiences and advancement opportunities while promoting collaboration and inspiring pharmacy staff by fostering a shared vision and supporting company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
- Conduct Clinical Reviews: Conduct information and clinical reviews and take necessary action to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of medications. Review drug histories and patient profiles to ensure proper and safe medication treatment, providing individualized patient/supplier consultation.
- Build Patient Relationships: Through utilization of superior interpersonal skills, win the trust of patients by listening to their concerns and providing a sounding board for pharmacy concerns. This relationship-building aspect is crucial to our model of patient-centered care.
- Evaluate Programs: Provide feedback regarding the effectiveness of the Client Retention Program including comments from patients as the value of individual consultations. Your insights will help us continuously improve our services.
- Answer Clinical Questions: Be responsible for all inquiries, discussions, and advice that relate directly to patient treatment. Provide clinical advice and information to patients, physicians, and insurance plans as needed.
- Maintain Regulatory Knowledge: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations. Stay current on Pharmacy industry developments and maintain required licensure throughout your employment.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Active Pharmacist License: Current Pharmacist license as granted by the appropriate state licensing authority. You must be licensed to practice pharmacy in a U.S. state and must be willing to obtain any additional state licenses as required.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Experience inspiring colleagues to research and resolve issues. You should be comfortable working through complex clinical and operational challenges.
- Confidentiality Experience: Experience working with sensitive and confidential information. Given the nature of healthcare data, maintaining strict confidentiality is paramount.
- Flexibility: Ability to work non-standard hours, which may include nights, holidays, and/or weekends. Our patients depend on us, and our team must be available when needed.
- Time Management: Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of various tasks with varying completion dates. The ability to juggle multiple priorities is essential.
- Self-Directed Work Style: Experience developing approaches to achieving goals with minimal supervision, depending on oneself to complete objectives and knowing when to escalate issues. We're looking for proactive professionals who can work independently.
- Customer Service Excellence: Experience providing customer service to internal and external clients, including meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Patient care is at the heart of everything we do.
- Travel Capability: Ability to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state). While this is primarily a remote position, occasional travel may be required for training, meetings, or special initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications would make you an even stronger candidate:
- Multi-State Licensure: Willingness to obtain other state pharmacy licenses if necessary. We serve patients across multiple states, and having licenses in additional states is a significant advantage.
- Insurance Knowledge: Knowledge of insurance plans and how they interact with pharmacy services. Understanding the complexities of billing, reimbursement, and insurance protocols is highly valuable.
- Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of PC operating systems including RAD, Commitment, and Plus systems commonly used in pharmacy management.
- Microsoft Excel Skills: Basic level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (for example: opening a workbook, inserting a row, selecting font and size, formatting cells as currency, using copy, paste and save functions, adjusting text, selecting cells, renaming a worksheet, inserting a column, selecting a chart style, inserting a worksheet, setting margins, selecting page orientation, using spell check and/or printing worksheets).
- Microsoft PowerPoint Skills: Basic proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: embedding, editing, hiding and deleting slides, navigating between slides, expanding list level, adding, centering and editing text, changing views, inserting a table or a note, moving objects, printing frame view and/or running a slide show).
- Microsoft Word Skills: Basic level proficiency in Microsoft Word (for example: opening a document, cutting, pasting and adjusting text, selecting font type and size, changing margins and column width, formatting, inserting shots, images and dates, using find and replace, repair, spell check, track changes, review sheet and/or print capabilities).
