We are looking for a dedicated and experienced professional to lead our Corporate Real Estate (CRE) Lease Accounting Team. The Market Leader is Corporate Real Estate (CRE), which specializes in real estate investments. The Lease Accounting Team is responsible for accounting and financial reporting for real estate, assets, and leases. The team is responsible for all closing activities and preparing all financial statements. In addition, the team ensures that all Real Estate (CRE) services are paid on time and performs all financial accounting for CRE properties.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lease Accounting Team Lead to oversee our Corporate Real Estate accounting operations. This leadership position requires a strategic thinker with strong accounting expertise, exceptional team management skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of financial accuracy and compliance.
As the Lease Accounting Team Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with accounting standards related to real estate leases, asset leases, and consolidated leases, such as ASC 842 or IFRS. You will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of our financial reporting while leading a team of dedicated accounting professionals.
Key Responsibilities
As a key member of our finance leadership team, you will be entrusted with the following responsibilities:
- Lead a team of 5 people responsible for ensuring compliance with accounting standards related to real estate leases, asset leases, and consolidated leases, such as ASC 842 or IFRS
- Responsible for the preparation and review of loan book entries for global transactions, including collections and adjustments
- Prepare account balances and explanations of the reasons for changes associated with lease accounts and quarterly closings, as well as 10Q/K ASC 842 reports
- Lead the quarterly SOX Audit Team to ensure the accuracy and completeness of all real estate, asset, and loan transactions
- Lead a 3-person team responsible for paying all Real Estate Operating Expenses (REO)
- Manage the company's quarterly CRE coverage, including totals, margins, exposure financial statements, reasons for change analysis, and volatility
- Improve efficiency through continuous monitoring and improvement of existing processes and maintain an up-to-date understanding of any changes in lease accounting standards
- Contribute to various projects including Tririga (Lease Management/Accounting Software) changes, S4/Hana implementation, and other corporate initiatives
- Manage, coach, and develop the team by fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment
- Work closely with various teams, including Finance, Real Estate, Lease Administration, and Legal, to understand the meaning of accounting records and resolve any accounting issues or complaints
- Provide special support and services to the Manager as needed
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you must possess the following qualifications:
- 1-4 years of relevant experience in accounting; minimum of 3 years of accounting experience and 2 years of management experience
- Must-have analytical skills combined with strong business and financial skills
- Demonstrated understanding of internal controls, control environment, and accounting systems (SAP preferred)
- A good and strong leader and an effective manager, who leads by example and will lead different groups to achieve research objectives and participate in project research and activities
- Strong relationship building skills and highly professional "customer service orientation"
- Must be able to interact with and influence all levels of management within and outside the management context
- Must be a good team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Good communicator both verbally and in writing
- Flexibility, "special work" focus, and strong multitasking abilities
- High energy levels; strong work ethic

Preferred Qualifications
While the following qualifications are not required, they would be highly valued in our ideal candidate:
- Experience with ASC 842 and IFRS 16 lease accounting standards
- Prior experience in the entertainment, media, or hospitality industry
- Advanced certifications such as CPA, CMA, or CIA
- Experience with SAP S4/Hana implementation projects
- Knowledge of Tririga or similar lease management software
- Experience in a multinational corporate environment
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial reporting tools
