Power Platform Developer, Veterans Affairs

• *Key Role**

As a seasoned sustainment engineer and Power Platform specialist, you understand the importance of ensuring that critical business applications and analytics environments operate reliably, securely, and efficiently. At ThunderYard, you’ll apply your expertise to maintain and modernize a suite of enterprise solutions built on the Microsoft Power Platform and Power BI ecosystems. You’ll troubleshoot complex issues, improve performance, and enhance functionality across applications and reporting environments that support high-visibility missions.

You will lead the sustainment and growth of Power BI Cloud Services, including administration, resource provisioning, customer support, customer training, policy management, and the integration of new upgrades and features. You will also manage and optimize the Power BI Report Server environment through system administration, monitoring, content development, modernization and automation efforts, customer engagement, and ongoing documentation and communication.

Working closely with mission stakeholders, you’ll analyze evolving requirements, identify modernization opportunities, recommend improvements, and ensure that platform capabilities scale with organizational needs. Your contributions will help maintain operational continuity, extend system lifecycles, and deliver meaningful insights through secure, well-governed reporting and application platforms that enable clients to make data-driven decisions.
• *Basic Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience with enterprise analytics platforms, business intelligence solutions, or Microsoft Power Platform technologies.
• Experience administering and enhancing Microsoft Power Platform solutions, including troubleshooting, debugging, defect remediation, and sustainment support for production applications.
• Hands-on experience with Power BI Cloud Services, including environment and tenant administration, resource provisioning, customer support, customer training, policy and governance management, and integrating new upgrades and features into existing environments.
• Experience managing and optimizing Power BI Report Server, including system administration, monitoring, content development, modernization and automation of reporting processes, and developing clear communications and documentation for users and stakeholders.
• Demonstrated experience serving as a Power BI SME and technical lead, guiding platform strategy, leading customer engagements, hosting lunch‑and‑learns and workshops, and mentoring users to increase enterprise adoption and proficiency.
• Experience handling incident and service ticket queues, performing root‑cause analysis, and ensuring timely resolution and communication to customers.
• Ability to collaborate with clients to analyze requirements, identify modernization opportunities, and recommend improvements to enhance system performance, reliability, and usability.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross‑functional team, providing technical leadership and clear communication across technical and non‑technical audiences.

• Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science field
• Microsoft certification
• Experience with Copilot or other AI tools
• Ability to demonstrate thought leadership across multiple channels and become a trusted advisor to decision makers
• *Compensation**

$100,000-$120,000 annually, plus benefits including medical, dental, vision coverage, PTO, and partial 401(k) match
