What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities
As a Pharmacy Customer Service Associate at arenaflex, you'll play a multifaceted role that combines retail excellence with essential pharmacy support. Your daily contributions will directly impact our customers' experience and the overall success of our pharmacy operations. Here's what you can expect:
Delivering Outstanding Customer Experience
- Greet and engage customers and patients with warmth and professionalism, creating a welcoming atmosphere from the moment they enter the store
- Actively listen to customer needs and questions, providing knowledgeable assistance with products and services across the pharmacy and retail areas
- Resolve customer concerns and issues promptly and effectively, ensuring every interaction leaves the customer feeling valued and satisfied
- Model and share exceptional customer service best practices with team members, contributing to a culture of service excellence
- Demonstrate arenaflex service traits consistently: offering help proactively, identifying customer needs, and servicing customers until they are completely satisfied
Pharmacy Operations Support
- Assist the pharmacy team under the direct supervision of licensed pharmacists, following all state and federal regulations governing pharmacy practice
- Utilize our advanced pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information accurately and process prescriptions efficiently
- Enter patient and drug information into the system with precision, ensuring all data is captured correctly to support safe and effective medication dispensing
- Help retrieve, count, and pour pharmaceutical medications, verifying that each medication is correct and checking for potential drug interactions
- Support pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow within the pharmacy department to ensure smooth, efficient operations
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty and adhere strictly to Company policies and procedures regarding pharmacy errors and our Quality Improvement Program
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the arenaflex Pharmacy Code of Conduct and comply with all ethical guidelines and regulatory requirements
- Strictly adhere to Good Faith Dispensing policies during all prescription dispensing activities, ensuring patient safety remains the top priority
- Handle telephone calls that do not require the personal attention of the pharmacist, including physician callbacks, with professionalism and discretion
- Process manual claims for third-party prescription services accurately and efficiently, performing various clerical duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager
Retail Operations & Sales
- Register sales on assigned cash register, providing customers with courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service
- Recommend items for sale to customers, suggesting trade-up and/or companion items to enhance their shopping experience
- Process customer purchases accurately, collecting cash and distributing change as requested; handle voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges professionally
- Guide customers to appropriate aisles, particularly the Over-The-Counter (OTC) aisle, to assist them in locating products they need
- Keep counters and shelves clean, well-merchandised, and organized; take regular inventory and maintain accurate records
- Check in and price merchandise as required, following all established procedures and communicating effectively with the shift leader
- Construct and maintain attractive displays, including promotional, seasonal, and sale merchandise displays; complete all resets and revisions as directed
- Assist with proper separation of food items (e.g., raw foods from pre-cooked) and product placement according to company policies and procedures
- For consumable items, implement first-in, first-out (FIFO) inventory rotation and handle restock outs efficiently
- Demonstrate working knowledge of store systems and equipment to provide seamless customer service
Photo Center & Additional Services
- Provide exceptional customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo service, poster printing, and creative machine operations
- Suggestively sell promotional photo products to enhance customer satisfaction and drive sales
- Assume web pick-up responsibilities, including monitoring orders in our digital system, filling orders (picking items), and delivering orders to customers as they arrive at the store
Store Maintenance & Team Collaboration
- Assist with exterior and interior maintenance, ensuring the store maintains a clean, neat, orderly, and welcoming condition at all times
- Comply with all company policies and procedures while maintaining respectful, collaborative relationships with coworkers
- Complete special assignments and other tasks as directed by management, demonstrating flexibility and a strong work ethic
What We're Looking For: Qualifications & Skills
Basic Requirements
- Language Skills: Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico where additional language considerations may apply)
- Flexibility: Requires willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours, to meet the needs of our customers and operations
- Availability: Must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week, with flexibility to work additional hours as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Six months or more of experience in a retail environment, demonstrating strong customer service skills and product knowledge
- Prior work experience with arenaflex or similar pharmacy retail settings, familiar with our systems, processes, and culture
- Good math skills, including the ability to accurately count, measure, and weigh medications for prescription preparation
- Strong computer skills with the ability to learn and navigate various digital systems, including pharmacy management software
- Knowledge of store inventory control procedures and best practices
- Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification or willingness to obtain certification through our designated training program

Compensation & Next Steps

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $17 to $19 per hour, depending on location, experience, and qualifications.
