Position Overview
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Pharmacist to join our Centralized Services team in a remote capacity. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for executing medical service methodologies and driving patient wellbeing results. You will execute patient intervention pharmacy programs, ensure compliance with clinical pharmacy services, and drive pharmacy financial performance by implementing programs that maximize reimbursements while improving patient health outcomes.
This position offers the unique opportunity to work from a remote setting while remaining an integral part of our clinical pharmacy operations. You will foster strong relationships with clinical communities in your assigned area and serve as a representative and contact of the organization. Additionally, you will serve as an informed resource and expert for other pharmacists and field leaders, contributing to the overall success of our pharmacy network.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Patient Care Programs
- Executes direct patient care programs, including but not limited to Drug Therapy Management programs, Vaccination Services, and Payer and Pharma Adherence and Clinical Projects
- Drives the execution of various policies and operations to ensure business needs are being met
- Conducts direct patient consultations, medication therapy management reviews, and provides individualized patient counseling
- Reviews drug histories and patient profiles to ensure appropriate and safe medication treatment
- Provides individualized patient and provider consultation to optimize therapeutic outcomes
Compliance and Quality Assurance
- Drives compliance and continuous quality improvement in the delivery of clinical pharmacy patient care and services by studying, evaluating, and redesigning processes
- Monitors and analyzes results and implements changes as needed to improve performance
- Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, standard operating procedures, and FDA guidelines
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations
- Conducts data and clinical reviews and takes necessary actions to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of medications
Financial Performance
- Drives local pharmacy financial performance by aligning business strategies with company financial goals
- Implements and executes patient intervention pharmacy programs to maximize financial performance
- Contributes to revenue optimization through effective program implementation and reimbursement maximization
- Supports efforts on improving patient experience by increasing focus on healthcare services
Patient Experience and Customer Service
- Through utilization of superior interpersonal skills, wins the trust of patients by listening to their concerns and providing a sounding board for pharmacy concerns
- Provides feedback regarding the effectiveness of Client Retention Program including comments from patients as the value of individual consultations
- Delivers exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients, meeting quality standards for services
- Evaluates customer satisfaction and implements improvements based on patient feedback
Professional Collaboration and Leadership
- Provides expertise, resources, education, and support to pharmacists and field leadership
- Supports staff training experiences and development opportunities
- Promotes collaboration and motivates pharmacy staff by fostering a shared vision
- Acts as an expert resource and contact for the organization within assigned areas
- Serves as an informed authority and resource to other pharmacists and field leaders
Clinical Knowledge and Advisory
- Responsible for all inquiries, discussions, and advice that relate directly to patient treatment
- Provides clinical advice and information to patients, physicians, and insurance plans as needed
- Maintains current knowledge of Pharmacy industry developments and trends
- Stays updated on emerging therapies, drug interactions, and clinical guidelines
- Maintains required licensure and completes continuing education requirements
Additional Responsibilities
- Performs other work consistent with the job duties as assigned by management
- Observes guidelines and procedures for all job responsibilities to meet goals
- Complies with company policies and procedures including all HIPAA guidelines and regulations
- Travel may be required up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state)
Essential Qualifications
Education and Licensing
- Current Pharmacist license as granted by the appropriate state licensing authority
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or related field required
- Willingness to acquire other state pharmacy licenses if required
Experience Requirements
- Experience inspiring colleagues to research and resolve issues
- Experience working with confidential and sensitive information
- Experience utilizing time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of various projects with varying completion dates
- Experience developing approaches to achieving goals with minimal supervision, depending on oneself to complete objectives
- Ability to determine when escalation of issues is necessary
- Experience providing customer service to internal and external clients, including meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction
Work Availability
- Able to work non-standard hours, which may include nights, holidays, and/or weekends
- Flexible to adapt to changing schedules and business needs
- Able to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of insurance plans and billing procedures
- Knowledge of PC operating systems including RAD, COMMIT, and Plus
- Basic level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (for example: opening a workbook, inserting a line, selecting font and size, formatting cells as currency, using copy, paste and save functions, adjusting text, selecting cells, renaming a worksheet, inserting a column, selecting a chart style, inserting a worksheet, setting margins, selecting page orientation, using spell check and/or printing worksheets)
- Basic proficiency level in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: embedding, modifying, hiding and deleting slides, navigating between slides, expanding list level, adding, centering and editing text, changing views, inserting a table or a note, moving objects, printing frame view and/or running a slide show)
- Basic level proficiency in Microsoft Word (for example: opening a document, cutting, pasting and adjusting text, selecting font type and size, changing margins and paragraph width, formatting, inserting bullets, pictures and dates, using find and replace, undo, spell check, track changes, review pane and/or print capabilities)
- Previous experience in centralized pharmacy services or remote pharmacy operations
- Experience with specialty pharmacy programs
- Background in disease state management programs
