Position Overview

We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Junior Data Scientist to join our growing analytics team. This is a remote work-from-home position that offers flexibility while allowing you to contribute to meaningful projects that shape the future of our organization.

Key Responsibilities

As a Junior Data Scientist at arenaflex, you will play a crucial role in transforming our data infrastructure and driving business insights. Your key responsibilities will include:


  • Business Problem Solving: Execute solutions for business challenges using data analysis, data mining, optimization tools, statistical modeling, and machine learning techniques that deliver measurable results.

  • End-to-End Ownership: Take strong ownership of data and be comfortable working from concept through to implementation, ensuring projects are completed successfully.

  • Large-Scale Data Processing: Extract meaningful insights from vast volumes of data, clearly communicating valuable triggers and recommendations to stakeholders.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:


  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.

  • Experience Level: Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in modeling and machine learning, demonstrating practical application of analytical techniques.

  • Data Handling Expertise: Proven comfort and intellectual curiosity for working with extremely large datasets, along with hands-on experience in predictive modeling.

  • Programming Proficiency: Strong knowledge of either R or Python, with the ability to write efficient code for data analysis and modeling tasks.

  • Data Manipulation Skills: Proficiency in manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume data from multiple sources to identify patterns and relationships.

  • Machine Learning Knowledge: Understanding of when and how to apply predictive and machine learning techniques including logistic regression, random forests, gradient boosting machines (GBM), neural networks, and support vector machines (SVM).

  • Database Expertise: Proficiency in using database querying tools with the ability to write complex queries and procedures using Teradata SQL and/or Microsoft T-SQL.

  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis and algorithms in a clear, precise, and impactful manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Language Proficiency: Strong written and spoken English fluency is essential; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.

  • Travel Requirement: Willingness to travel to the US for approximately 4-6 weeks per year as needed for team collaboration and project requirements.

  • Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the location specified without requiring sponsorship.

  • Reliability: Reliable and consistent attendance is a fundamental requirement of this position.

Preferred Qualifications
