Position Overview: Data Scientist

What You'll Do

As an integral member of our analytics team, you will play a critical role in transforming raw data into strategic business assets. Here's what you can expect to accomplish in this role:

You'll develop custom analytical models to generate insights that drive value for our customers and create competitive advantages for our organization.
• Data Pipeline Collaboration: Work closely with our talented data engineering team to construct robust data pipelines from diverse sources. You'll ensure data quality and accessibility, enabling you to execute advanced statistical techniques and design interventions that optimize business performance.
• Exploratory Research: Conduct exploratory investigation involving hypothesis testing, statistical inference, and statistical analysis (predictive and/or prescriptive). You'll design experiments, analyze results, and translate findings into actionable business recommendations.
• Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner with business and technical stakeholders to translate complex retail business challenges into cutting-edge data science solutions. You'll bridge the gap between technical complexity and business value, ensuring your insights drive real-world outcomes.
• Performance Monitoring: Develop processes and tools that monitor, analyze, and continuously improve model performance and data accuracy. You'll implement robust monitoring systems that ensure our analytical assets maintain peak effectiveness over time.
• Insight Communication: Translate complex technical findings into clear, compelling narratives that resonate with both technical and non-technical audiences. You'll present your findings to senior leadership and influence strategic decision-making.

• Programming Proficiency: Fluency in languages used to manipulate data and draw insights from large datasets, including Python, R, and SQL.
• Database Knowledge: Experience with database technologies and distributed datastores such as SQL, NoSQL, and cloud-based data platforms.
• Technology Stack Experience: Familiarity with tools like Spark, Hive, and TensorFlow is highly desirable.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field
• Strong foundation in statistical analysis and predictive modeling
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, R, or similar)
• Experience working with large-scale datasets
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in a quantitative discipline
• Experience in retail, e-commerce, or consumer goods industry
