About the Role

As a Test Development Engineer at arenaflex, you'll be at the forefront of cybersecurity innovation, providing ongoing software development support while leading critical security activities with external manufacturing partners and internal test development teams. You'll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining test frameworks that validate the security and functionality of our hardware and software systems. Key Responsibilities

• Security Hardening Leadership: Plan and define comprehensive security hardening processes while providing clear, actionable guidance to Contract Manufacturers across North America. You'll establish standards that protect our infrastructure and ensure compliance with industry best practices.


• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal engineers, product managers, and external partner teams to drive continuous improvement in testing methodologies and security protocols. Your ability to communicate effectively across teams will be crucial to success.


• Security Issue Investigation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate, analyze, and resolve complex security issues that arise during development and manufacturing cycles.


• System Administration: Manage operating system upgrades and provide support for recurring hardening updates, network security configurations, remote access solutions, and system administration of test stations.


• Python Test Development: Develop and maintain robust Python-based test scripts tailored to specific test requirements, ensuring comprehensive coverage and accurate validation of system functionality.


• Root Cause Analysis: Perform initial driver analysis of system test failures and implement effective corrective or preventive actions to improve overall product quality and reliability.


• Partner Coordination: Act as the primary technical liaison between arenaflex and external manufacturing partners (ODM, OEM, JDM) to ensure alignment on testing standards and security requirements.

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.


• Minimum of 3 years of experience in software development, hardware troubleshooting, or test engineering. We're looking for someone who understands the full development lifecycle and can bring practical insights to the role.


• Hands-on experience working with security policies, processes, servers, or network equipment. You should be comfortable navigating the complex landscape of enterprise security requirements.


• Strong proficiency in Python programming, including experience with input/output frameworks (Profiles) and operating systems. You should be able to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code that meets our high standards.


• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential.


• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with operating system planning and Shell scripting. Knowledge of automation and system optimization is highly valued.


• Experience with cloud platform software development. Understanding of cloud-native architectures and deployment models is a significant advantage.


• Previous experience working in security or software development teams, ideally in a fast-paced technology company environment.


• Experience in testing products for manufacturing, including direct work with partners or contract manufacturers (ODM, OEM, JDM). Understanding of supply chain dynamics and manufacturing workflows is beneficial.


• Knowledge of industry security standards and compliance frameworks. Familiarity with common vulnerabilities and attack vectors is valuable.


• Experience with test automation frameworks and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
