Position Overview

As a Customer Engineer at arenaflex, you will serve as the technical bridge between our Sales team and our clients. Your primary responsibility will be to help prospective and existing customers understand the power of arenaflex's cloud solutions, develop innovative strategies to address their business challenges, and ensure a smooth implementation process.

You will work closely with the Business Development team to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand client technical pain points, and create tailored solutions that meet their unique needs. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, communication skills, and business acumen to effectively translate complex cloud concepts into actionable strategies for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

As a Customer Engineer at arenaflex, you will be responsible for:


  • Business Opportunity Development: Collaborate with the sales team to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand client technical requirements, and develop strategies to address technical blockers that may hinder the sales process.

  • Technical Relationship Management: Act as the primary technical point of contact for arenaflex clients, managing technical relationships, conducting product solution briefings, and coordinating proof-of-concept work with additional technical resources as needed.

  • Solution Demonstration: Work directly with clients to demonstrate and model arenaflex Cloud product integrations in client or partner environments, showcasing the value and capabilities of our solutions.

  • Migration Strategy Development: Recommend migration strategies, implementation models, migration tools, and cloud infrastructure to execute comprehensive solutions using arenaflex Cloud. This includes assessing current environments and designing optimal cloud architectures.

  • Client Engagement: Visit client sites, attend conferences, and participate in industry events as needed to build relationships, understand client needs, and represent arenaflex professionally.

  • Technical Problem Solving: Test and inspire clients and colleagues to solve problems using a comprehensive set of technical capabilities, providing guidance and support throughout the customer journey.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise with Product Marketing and Engineering teams to stay current on industry trends, provide feedback on product capabilities, and contribute to the continuous improvement of arenaflex Cloud products.

  • Sales Support: Assist sales Googlers by troubleshooting key technical issues for our clients, ensuring their success with arenaflex solutions and fostering long-term partnerships.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:


  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.

  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Technical Sales Engineer in a cloud computing environment, or in a client-facing technical role with a focus on enterprise solutions.

  • Data Center Expertise: In-depth understanding of traditional data center models and components, including servers, storage, backup systems, networking, and virtualization technologies such as hypervisors, elastic compute, and containerized infrastructure.

  • Cloud Platform Knowledge: Familiarity with public cloud platforms, infrastructure, storage, and related technologies. Understanding of cloud deployment models and their business implications.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify technical blockers and develop effective solutions under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with the following additional experience will be strongly preferred:


  • DevOps and Automation: Experience with deployment approaches and technologies, including Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Deployment (CD), and automation tools such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible, or similar platforms.

  • Operating Systems and Administration: Proficiency with operating systems and Linux system administration, including command-line interface, shell scripting, and system configuration.

  • Enterprise Applications: Experience with enterprise applications and their deployment in cloud environments.

  • Security Expertise: Knowledge of security principles, including authentication protocols, Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems, encryption standards, securing cloud architectures, networking security, and endpoint security.

  • Networking Proficiency: Experience in networking areas such as Linux operating systems, software-defined networking, virtualization, open protocols, application acceleration and load balancing, DNS, and Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), particularly as they apply to Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) technologies.

  • Industry Certifications: Relevant certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., arenaflex Cloud, AWS, Azure) or related technologies are highly valued.

Compensation and Benefits
