What You'll Do

As a Big Data Engineer at arenaflex, you will play a critical role in shaping how we understand and serve our customers. Your technical expertise will be instrumental in building the data backbone that drives customer-centric decision-making across the organization. Here's what you can expect:

Data Architecture & Modeling


  • Design and implement robust data model architectures that support efficient data processing and standardized metric definitions across the enterprise

  • Create scalable data structures within our cornerstone big data platform to ensure optimal performance and data integrity

  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into technical data solutions

  • Establish data governance frameworks and best practices for data quality management

Big Data Technology Development


  • Build and maintain big data and batch/real-time analytical solutions using transformational technologies including Hadoop, HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, Spark, and Python

  • Develop innovative data processing pipelines that transform raw customer feedback into actionable insights

  • Ensure data quality and accuracy through comprehensive testing at variable and use-case levels

  • Optimize existing data workflows for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency

Voice of Customer Program Support


  • Expand and enhance our Voice of Customer data collection methods and analytical capabilities

  • Work closely with partners across the organization to prioritize, define, develop, and test data solutions for various VOC use cases

  • Transform customer feedback data into strategic insights that inform product development and service improvements

  • Support the end-to-end VOC process from data collection to insight generation

Automation & Process Improvement


  • Proactively identify and automate manual data processes to improve quality and operational efficiency

  • Develop automation tools and scripts using Python, Shell scripting, and other technologies

  • Provide recommendations to enhance capabilities and drive efficiency in computing systems using our big data ecosystem

  • Create documentation and knowledge base materials for data processes and solutions

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement


  • Partner effectively with product owners and relationship managers to understand functional requirements and convert them into technical deliverables

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives

  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders

  • Mentor junior team members on best practices in big data engineering

Essential Qualifications


  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with big data technologies including Hive/Hadoop, PySpark, Python, and Shell scripting

  • Proven experience with development lifecycle management and troubleshooting for data-driven projects

  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies with the ability to deliver incremental product improvements at regular intervals

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders and product owners

  • Experience translating functional requirements into technical deliverables

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex data issues

  • Strong attention to data quality and accuracy

Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience in the financial services or fintech industry

  • Knowledge of real-time streaming data processing frameworks

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar)

  • Understanding of machine learning concepts and their application to customer data

  • Experience with VOC or customer feedback analytics programs
