Position Overview


We are currently seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Information Security – Identity and Access Management (IAM) to lead our Identity Control and Investigation team. This critical role reports into the Identity Lifecycle Management association and is responsible for driving our IAM strategy forward while ensuring the highest standards of security across our organization.

As the head of this team, which includes Security Analysts, Managers, and Specialists, you will provide leadership and strategic vision around Identity and Access Management for internal partners and contractors, with a particular focus on ensuring that arenaflex continues to deliver least privilege access across all systems and applications.

What You Will Do in This Role


As a Director of Information Security at arenaflex, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our security posture and protecting our organization's digital assets. Your primary responsibilities will include:


  • Strategic Leadership: Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for Identity and Access Management initiatives across the organization. Develop and execute comprehensive IAM strategies that align with business objectives while maintaining robust security controls.
  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Data Security Analysts, Managers, and Specialists. Foster a culture of continuous learning, professional growth, and excellence in security practices.
  • Data Analysis and Insights: Lead your team in gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data from various sources to provide meaningful insights and actionable recommendations for improving IAM processes and reducing security risks.
  • Control Management: Ensure the continuing operation and effectiveness of key Identity and Access Management controls, including Access Reviews, Certification Processes, and Revocation Cycles. Maintain rigorous oversight to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Process Optimization: Identify potential opportunities to reduce friction by driving the team to design solutions that proactively minimize the need for human intervention in IAM controls, while maintaining security and compliance requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with various teams within the Information Security organization to ensure IAM controls are integrated into a comprehensive defense-in-depth strategy that protects arenaflex customers, partners, and investors from cybersecurity threats.
  • Executive Communication: Simplify complex technical details into findings and recommendations that can be effectively communicated to executive leadership and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications:


  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Security, or other related field, or equivalent work experience in a relevant technical domain.
  • Industry Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a role primarily focused on Information Security, with demonstrated expertise in cybersecurity principles, practices, and frameworks.
  • Leadership Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a direct leadership position with a proven track record of mentoring, training, and developing others in their professional growth. Experience building and leading high-performing security teams is essential.
  • IAM Expertise: Deep understanding of Identity and Access Management concepts, including the ability to see all aspects of the Identity and Access Management lifecycle, along with the risks and vulnerabilities associated with each phase.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with the specific capacity to lead a team in developing these skills across the organization.
  • Talent Development: Ability to recruit, hire, and grow talent within Information Security, with a particular focus on using employee leadership to drive engagement and retention of direct reports.
  • Adaptability: Capacity to adapt in a technically complex and fast-changing environment, responding calmly and judiciously to changing requirements in deadline-driven situations.
  • Executive Presence: Ability to manage upward through executive presence by simplifying complex details into findings and recommendations that can be actioned by senior leadership.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of the audit and regulatory environment of financial institutions, including compliance requirements and examination processes.
  • Framework Experience: Experience with risk management frameworks such as NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) and regulatory frameworks like PCI-DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard).

Preferred Qualifications


While not required, the following qualifications will strengthen your application and demonstrate your commitment to excellence in information security:


  • Professional certifications such as CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CISM (Certified Information Security Manager), or other relevant security certifications.
  • Six Sigma certification or other related process improvement and analysis certifications that demonstrate expertise in streamlining operations and driving efficiency.
  • Experience working in the financial services or payments industry with a strong understanding of industry-specific security requirements.
  • Knowledge of emerging identity technologies such as zero-trust architecture, privileged access management solutions, and cloud-based identity platforms.

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits
