The Role: Data Scientist - Cost & Operations Analysis

We're looking for a talented and motivated Data Scientist to join our Research and Behavioral Change team. In this critical role, you'll be building industry-leading analysis, data, and technology platforms that will help redefine how healthcare is delivered. This position offers the unique opportunity to work within a cross-functional team, delivering powerful solutions that directly impact operational efficiency and patient care.

As a Data Scientist focusing on Cost and Operations Analysis, you will play a pivotal role in improving efficiency, automating processes, and enhancing the provider experience across our healthcare ecosystem. You'll have the chance to work with massive datasets, develop sophisticated algorithms, and implement solutions that drive real business value.

What You'll Do

Your primary responsibilities will include designing, developing, and deploying advanced analytical models and algorithms that optimize our healthcare operations. You'll be working at the intersection of data science and healthcare operations, creating solutions that make a tangible difference in how we serve our members.

  • Model Development: Execute complex models, develop tools and algorithms to enhance processes related to our healthcare billing environment. You'll design and implement statistical models that predict outcomes, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.

  • Opportunity Identification: Identify and quantify opportunities for analysis to improve efficiency and increase automation in claims settlement and claims management. You'll conduct thorough assessments to uncover areas where data-driven solutions can deliver the greatest impact.

  • Predictive Analytics: Create, validate, and execute algorithms and predictive models to investigate complex issues, identify patterns, and recommend effective solutions. Your work will directly inform strategic business decisions.

  • Data Analysis: Analyze, examine, and interpret large volumes of data in various forms, transforming raw information into meaningful business insights that drive organizational strategy.

  • Problem Solving: Perform analyses of structured and unstructured data to solve reasonably complex business problems, developing innovative approaches to challenges that arise in the healthcare industry.

  • Statistical Modeling: Apply advanced statistical techniques and mathematical analyses to extract maximum value from our data assets, ensuring robust and reliable results.

  • Data Pipeline Development: Develop data models and pipelines to integrate, collect, and normalize data that generates insights and addresses reporting needs, ensuring data quality and accessibility across the organization.

  • Visualization & Communication: Utilize data visualization techniques to communicate analytical results effectively and support business decision-making, translating complex findings into clear, actionable recommendations.

  • Data Governance: Create and evaluate the data needs of assigned projects, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of data used in analysis and reporting.

  • Continuous Improvement: Analyze existing data and recommend additional data sources for improvements, always seeking ways to enhance our analytical capabilities.
