What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities
As an integral member of our store team, the Customer Service Associate I is responsible for delivering a seamless and enjoyable shopping experience for every customer who walks through our doors. Your daily responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Customer Assistance and Guidance: Greet customers warmly and actively listen to their needs. Provide product information, answer questions, and offer personalized recommendations to help customers find exactly what they're looking for. Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of store merchandise, promotions, and pricing to enhance the shopping experience.
- Sales Transaction Management: Operate the cash register accurately and efficiently while processing customer purchases. Handle cash, credit card, and electronic payment transactions with precision and attention to detail. Ensure all transactions are completed correctly, providing excellent service even during peak hours.
- Cash Security and Asset Protection: Maintain strict security of all cash handling procedures. Balance the register at the beginning and end of each shift, accurately accounting for all transactions. Protect company assets by remaining vigilant against theft, fraud, and operational discrepancies.
- Store Merchandising and Stock Management: Keep the store well-stocked and merchandise displays organized and visually appealing. Continuously recover merchandise throughout the store, ensuring products are returned to their proper locations. Assist with receiving shipments and unloading trucks, ensuring timely stock replenishment in accordance with productivity standards.
- Store Cleanliness and Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the store. This includes cleaning and restocking restrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and ensuring all areas remain neat and presentable. Take pride in the appearance of your workspace and contribute to overall store hygiene standards.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers, associates, and leadership. Follow all safety protocols and company policies. Maintain professional and friendly interactions while adhering to operational guidelines and security procedures.
- Team Collaboration: Work cooperatively with fellow associates and leadership to achieve store goals. Communicate effectively about inventory levels, customer needs, and operational issues. Support your teammates and contribute to a positive team atmosphere.
- Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors. Remain flexible and adaptable to changing business needs and priorities.
What We're Looking For: Qualifications and Skills
Essential Requirements:
- Educational Background: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred. We value candidates who are committed to ongoing learning and professional development.
- Physical Capabilities: Must be able to lift merchandise weighing between 30 and 50 pounds from floor to above shoulder height. Ability to meet the demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting throughout the shift.
- Instruction Comprehension: Ability to follow instructions accurately and interpret operational documents, policies, and procedures effectively.
- Customer Service Excellence: Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required. You must be genuinely friendly, approachable, and committed to creating positive customer interactions.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills to interact clearly with customers, team members, and leadership. Ability to listen actively and respond appropriately.
- Organizational Abilities: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, maintain attention to detail, and prioritize workload effectively in a busy retail environment.

Highly Preferred Experience:
