Position Overview
As a CTE Teacher at arenaflex, you will serve as a state-certified educator responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality instruction in business, marketing, and finance courses within our online learning environment. This position is ideal for educators who are passionate about preparing students for success in today's competitive business landscape and who thrive in virtual teaching settings. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive instruction, supporting student learning, and guiding students toward achieving their academic and career goals.
Our online platform utilizes cutting-edge learning management systems and digital tools to deliver dynamic educational content. As part of your role, you will monitor student progress, collaborate with parents and learning coaches, and develop individualized learning plans that align with each student's unique strengths, needs, and post-secondary aspirations. You will also leverage career exploration tools and resources to help students identify their passions and prepare for future academic and professional endeavors.
Key Responsibilities
As a valued member of our teaching team, you will be responsible for the following essential functions:
- Instructional Delivery: Provide rich, engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences that cater to diverse learning styles and ensure student mastery of course content.
- Personalized Learning: Commit to personalizing instruction for all students by differentiating content, processes, and assessments based on individual student levels of mastery and learning needs.
- High Expectations: Demonstrate an unwavering belief in every student's ability to succeed and hold all learners to high academic and behavioral expectations.
- Curriculum Enhancement: Augment course content according to prescribed policies and procedures, utilizing appropriate asynchronous and synchronous tools under guidance from school administrators and instructional coaches.
- Assessment and Grading: Maintain an accurate and thorough grade book that ensures academic integrity, make informed student placement and promotion decisions, and promptly alert administrators to any concerns regarding student performance or progress.
- Test Preparation: Prepare students thoroughly for high-stakes standardized assessments and certification examinations where applicable.
- Family Engagement: Establish and maintain positive, productive relationships with families and serve as the primary point of contact for students and learning coaches. Communicate regularly and respond promptly to inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
- Parent Support: Support learning coaches and parents with curricular and instructional questions, as well as basic technical troubleshooting in the virtual classroom environment, always aligned with school policies and procedures.
- Standards Compliance: Maintain comprehensive knowledge of State, National, and Industry-Specific learning standards and ensure all instruction aligns with these requirements.
- Instructional Innovation: Develop effective instructional tools, strategies, and resources to supplement and enhance the provided curriculum, incorporating best practices in online and blended learning.
- Professional Collaboration: Collaborate regularly with colleagues, school leadership, and the broader professional learning community to share best practices, discuss student progress, and contribute to continuous school improvement.
- Career & Technical Student Organization (CTSO): Serve as an advisor for Career and Technical Student Organizations, providing mentorship and guidance to students participating in these leadership and career development programs.
- Business Partnerships: Support the CTE Program Coordinator and school leadership in establishing and maintaining business and industry partnerships that provide valuable work-based learning experiences for students.
- Project-Based Learning: Support and implement a project-based learning model that encourages students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios and develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Professional Development: Travel up to 20% of the time for face-to-face professional development sessions, student testing events, and other required school activities.
Required Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Certification: Active state teaching license in Texas with appropriate certifications in business, marketing, finance, or office education. Candidates must hold one or more of the following certifications:
- Business and Finance: Grades 6-12
- Business Education: Grades 6-12
- Marketing: Grades 6-12
- Marketing Education: Grades 8-12
- Background Check: Ability to successfully clear all required background checks as mandated by state regulations and arenaflex policy.
- Residency: Must be a resident of the state of Texas.

- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint, with the ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and online teaching platforms.
- Certification Maintenance: Ability to maintain teaching certification and complete required professional development hours while developing fluency in arenaflex systems, programs, and curriculum.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
- Time Management: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a virtual work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are highly preferred:
- Prior experience teaching or working with the proposed age group (middle and high school students).
- Experience supporting adults and children in the use of educational technology and digital learning platforms.
- Previous experience teaching in an online (virtual) and/or traditional brick-and-mortar classroom environment.
- Familiarity with online learning management systems and digital classroom tools.
- Experience with career exploration platforms such as Career Builder, Career Cruising, or similar resources.
- Background in career and technical education or vocational training.
Work Environment and Culture
This is a full-time remote position that offers the flexibility to work from the comfort of your home office. As a virtual educator at arenaflex, you will enjoy:
