Here, you will leverage internal and external partnerships, collaborate on research and analysis to support packaging optimization, establish best practices for scale, and support sustainability initiatives. What You'll Do
As a Lead Packaging Specialist at arenaflex, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our packaging strategy. Here's what your journey will look like:
Data Architecture & Development
- Build foundational data requirements, taxonomy structures, and specific logic to support packaging design optimization and sustainability efforts across all Owned Brand categories
- Consult with relevant sourcing, design, store operations, marketing, supply chain, properties, and compliance program owners in establishing relevant data requirements and flexible standards that consistently reflect our commitment to safety, reliability, cost efficiency, and performance
- Create and administer change processes to ensure accurate packaging documentation management portfolios across multiple systems and partner teams
Training & Communication
- Develop, manage, and execute innovative training programs and creative assets on an ongoing basis for internal and external audiences to drive comprehensive understanding of standards, specifications, and data accuracy best practices
- Evaluate data requirements, standards, and specifications to optimize safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions that align with industry standards, improve quality engineering practices, are consistent with risk tolerance expectations, and maintain a pioneer position in industry
- Provide support and guidance to cross-functional teams and colleagues to ensure proper interpretation and enactment of packaging data requirements, standards, and specifications
Compliance & Risk Management
- Consult with appropriate internal legal and regulatory informed authorities, identifying impacts on current data requirements and standards, taking action to mitigate risks and identify opportunities to exceed compliance
- Work with cross-functional global partners to drive effective communication and roadshows around stated objective development, compliance, and data accuracy best practice requirements and expectations
- Use data to identify trends or issues, in partnership with technology teams, to measure effectiveness of training delivered and communications sent
Industry Analysis & Leadership
- Research industry trends and assess arenaflex's corresponding data and standards practices, share insights and recommendations with appropriate audience for improvement and compliance
- Provide leadership and guidance to others, driving effectiveness and efficiency in team outcomes
- Create and maintain a positive team culture by demonstrating behaviors consistent with arenaflex values of Inclusivity, Connection, and Drive; ensure ongoing, effective communications to the team, and support individualized development by offering regular performance feedback, coaching, recognition, and evaluation
- Other responsibilities as assigned
What We're Looking For
We're seeking a candidate who brings both technical expertise and creative problem-solving skills to our packaging team. Here's what makes you the ideal fit:
Essential Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
- Experience: 4+ years of experience developing and managing documentation and standards projects, preferably including packaging design and development
- Technical Skills: Strong capability in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel), Visio applications
- Communication: Experience with documentation best practices, technical writing, and reporting
- Training Abilities: Skilled at developing and advising on content, structure, and delivery of effective training programs, roadshows, and communications
Preferred Background
- Experience with packaging or consumer products manufacturing
- Background leading teams and/or projects, driving collaboration, empowerment, and teamwork
- Demonstrated experience in data analysis and interpretation
