Position Overview
We are currently seeking a qualified pharmacist to execute medical services procedures and drive exceptional patient health outcomes. In this role, you will implement patient intervention pharmacy programs, ensure compliance with clinical pharmacy services, and contribute to our pharmacy's financial performance while maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
This position offers flexibility with both part-time and full-time opportunities, including potential remote prescription processing components. You'll be working in a fast-paced, rewarding environment where your clinical expertise will directly impact patient wellness and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
As a pharmacist at arenaflex, you will be entrusted with a variety of critical responsibilities that showcase your clinical knowledge and interpersonal skills:
- Direct Patient Care Programs: Implement and manage direct patient care programs, including Drug Therapy Management programs, Vaccination Services, and payer and pharma adherence initiatives. You'll provide comprehensive medication therapy reviews, health screenings, and chronic disease management support to help patients achieve optimal health outcomes.
- Clinical Pharmacy Operations: Drive compliance and continuous quality improvement in the delivery of clinical pharmacy patient care services. Analyze, evaluate, and redesign processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy while monitoring results and implementing necessary changes to maintain excellence.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all pharmacy operations comply with regulatory requirements, standard operating procedures, and FDA guidelines. Maintain current knowledge of federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations.
- Financial Performance: Contribute to pharmacy financial performance by executing strategic pharmacy programs designed to maximize reimbursements while improving patient health outcomes. Balance business strategies with company financial goals.
- Patient Experience Enhancement: Focus on expanding healthcare services including patient consultations, medication management, drug therapy reviews, and specialized services such as immunizations, illness state management, and specialty programs.
- Team Leadership and Support: Provide expertise, resources, education, and support to pharmacy staff and field leadership. Support staff training experiences and development opportunities while promoting teamwork and fostering a shared vision aligned with company values and ethical standards.
- Medication Safety and Accuracy: Conduct thorough data and clinical reviews to ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of medications. Review drug histories and patient profiles to guarantee safe and effective medication therapy, providing individualized consultations to patients and providers.
- Patient Relationship Building: Use exceptional interpersonal skills to earn patient trust by actively listening to concerns and serving as a sounding board for pharmacy-related questions. Build lasting relationships that encourage patient loyalty and satisfaction.
- Clinical Consultation: Serve as a clinical resource for patients, physicians, and insurance plans. Address inquiries, transactions, and issues directly related to patient treatment with professionalism and expertise.
- Documentation and Reporting: Provide feedback on customer retention programs and document patient interactions to measure program effectiveness and improve service quality.
- Additional Duties: Perform other work consistent with job responsibilities as assigned by management, adhering to all company policies and procedures including HIPAA regulations.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you must possess the following required qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or related pharmaceutical sciences field is required.
- Licensure: Current, valid Pharmacist license as permitted by the appropriate California state licensing authority. Ability to obtain licensure in other states as required.
- Leadership Experience: Experience leading and guiding colleagues to research and resolve issues effectively.
- Confidentiality: Demonstrated experience handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Availability: Ability and willingness to work non-standard hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Time Management: Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks, track details, and meet deadlines for various assignments with varying completion dates.
- Self-Direction: Experience developing approaches to achieve goals with minimal supervision, ability to work independently to complete objectives, and sound judgment regarding when to escalate issues.
- Customer Service: Proven experience providing excellent customer service to both internal and external clients, including meeting quality standards for services and evaluating customer satisfaction.
- Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes, which may include both in-state and out-of-state travel.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications will strengthen your application:
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licenses in multiple states as needed
- Strong knowledge of various insurance plans and billing procedures
- Familiarity with pharmacy operating systems including Radio, Commitment, and Plus
- Proficient Microsoft Excel skills (opening workbooks, inserting rows, formatting cells as currency, using copy/paste/save functions, adjusting text, renaming worksheets, inserting columns, creating charts, setting margins, and using spell check/printing)
- Solid Microsoft PowerPoint skills (inserting, editing, hiding, and deleting slides, navigating between slides, expanding list levels, adding and formatting text, inserting tables or notes, moving objects, and running presentations)
- Competent Microsoft Word skills (opening documents, cutting/pasting/adjusting text, formatting fonts and margins, inserting bullets/images/dates, using find/replace, spell check, track changes, and print functions)
