Key Responsibilities
As a Data Center Technician on our night shift team, you will be responsible for supporting the installation, maintenance, and operation of critical data center infrastructure. Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Infrastructure Deployment: Assist in the planning, staging, setup, and execution of new hardware installations including servers, storage devices, networking equipment, and rack-mounted systems according to established protocols and documentation.
- Diagnostic and Troubleshooting: Perform basic diagnostics and troubleshooting procedures under the guidance of experienced technicians to identify hardware issues, replace defective components, and minimize service disruptions to ensure optimal performance.
- Ticket Management: Complete assigned tickets efficiently and in accordance with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), meeting established Service Level Agreements (SLAs) while maintaining high quality standards for service delivery.
- Equipment Decommissioning: Execute hardware decommissioning procedures for critical changes and upgrades, including memory enhancements and operating system reimaging, while following strict security and data management protocols.
- Data Security: Process data-bearing devices for destruction or verify that all data has been properly erased in accordance with security policies and regulatory requirements.
- Incident Reporting: Follow established procedures to communicate, report, and escalate incidents to appropriate data center operations management and technical leads.
- Process Compliance: Adhere to Data Center Services (DCS) specialty unit procedures, policies, and deadlines while raising compliance issues to appropriate leads when necessary.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other technicians and specialists to complete or hand off tickets, share information during team meetings, and contribute to a positive team environment.
Safety and Environment Responsibilities
- Participate in daily security briefings and complete all required safety training programs.
- Follow all safety procedures including proper equipment use, lifting techniques, electrical hazard awareness, and ladder/mobile platform usage.
- Complete required Task Hazard Analyses (THAs) for assigned tasks and utilize appropriate tools and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Promote a culture of safety by actively identifying and reporting safety concerns or incidents to appropriate personnel.
- Participate in safety observation programs such as "Get Out And Look" (GOAL) initiatives.
- Comply with all security and data management protocols and complete required security training.
Qualifications and Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent certification.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware and components.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts including night shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Ability to meet arenaflex and government security screening requirements, including passing a background investigation.
- U.S. citizenship or verification of legal work eligibility in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent certification plus one or more years of experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
- Previous experience in a data center or server farm environment.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts and server hardware architecture.
- Relevant technical certifications (CompTIA, Cisco, or similar).
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Compensation and Benefits
