Position Overview

We're currently seeking a talented and motivated Sales Planner to join our Revenue Management division within arenaflex Advertising Sales. As a Sales Planner, you will be responsible for supporting our dedicated book(s) of business, managing the Request for Proposal (RFP) process from proposal generation through contract entry, and ensuring seamless execution across assigned brands and business verticals.

You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Account Management, Ad Operations, Research, and Finance to deliver exceptional results for our advertising partners. Key Responsibilities

As a Sales Planner at arenaflex, you will be instrumental in supporting our advertising revenue operations. Your primary responsibilities will include:


  • Strategy Implementation: Partner closely with Sales and Revenue Management teams to implement packaging and pricing strategies, adhering to Revenue Management ratecards and guidelines while maximizing revenue opportunities.
  • Media Planning: Manage daily support of active advertising deals and build comprehensive media plans for both Upfront and Scatter deals, ensuring accuracy and strategic alignment with client objectives.
  • Pipeline Management: Maintain and track the sales pipeline in collaboration with your Sales team, ensuring all opportunities are properly documented and progressed through the sales cycle.
  • Budget Execution: Execute budget adjustments including incremental spend, improvements, makegoods, and overrides with precision and attention to financial goals.
  • Client Expertise: Provide account and planning subject matter expertise on advertisers' specific preferences, serving as a trusted advisor for both internal teams and external clients.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with internal and external teams to accomplish client needs while meeting or exceeding internal objectives and performance metrics.
  • Campaign Analysis: Analyze campaign delivery performance and assign appropriate make-good inventory to ensure clients receive full value for their advertising investments.
  • Account Management Partnership: Partner closely with Account Management teams to execute campaigns effectively, maximize delivery against contracted objectives, and address client reporting requirements.
  • Client Communication: Communicate professionally with agency contacts to address RFP requirements and handle impromptu requests with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Priority Management: Independently manage priorities and workload effectively across multiple internal partners and books of business, demonstrating strong organizational and time management skills.

Roles and Responsibilities Breakdown

Proposal and Contract Management

Within designated Sales systems, you will support a dedicated book(s) of business, managing the entire RFP process from initial proposal generation through contract entry, risk fulfillment, and contract closure. This end-to-end ownership will give you comprehensive exposure to the sales cycle and develop your project management capabilities.

Customer Service and External Partnership

As one of the key contacts for external clients, you will provide exceptional customer service throughout the lifecycle of each advertising arrangement. You'll work closely with both Account Managers and Ad Operations teams to ensure flawless campaign execution. Additionally, you'll keep agency partners informed on delivery against contracted objectives, communicate the need for unit changes "as scheduled," and address any client reporting requirements promptly and professionally.

Deal Fulfillment and Internal Collaboration

Applying business direction from internal constituents, particularly Revenue Yield Management (RYM), in response to RFP inquiries across assigned arenaflex brands and business verticals, you will collaborate with internal departments from Research to Ad Solutions, Traffic, and Finance to ensure optimal deal fulfillment. You'll identify ways to both best satisfy agency needs and maximize opportunities for the organization.

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Training


  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered.
  • Experience: Minimum 2+ years of professional experience; media sales planning and/or buying experience is strongly preferred and will be highly valued.
  • Team Orientation: A genuine enthusiasm for working in a collaborative Advertising Sales team environment with a customer-centric mindset.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive compensation package that recognizes your skills and experience. The hiring range for this position is $71,300 - $89,100 annually (for New York candidates). The base salary actually offered will consider internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
