What You'll Do

As a Senior Data Scientist at arenaflex, you will be responsible for applying highly complex advanced data science, predictive analytics, and machine learning techniques to provide insights and actionable recommendations. Your work will directly influence business strategy and help shape the future of our healthcare and retail operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Build cutting-edge models and tools using technical expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, probability and decision theory, and other quantitative methods. Innovate by adapting to new modeling techniques and procedures as the field evolves.


• Understand the business reality behind massive datasets and develop meaningful analytic solutions that drive real-world impact.


• Apply analytical rigor and statistical techniques to analyze large volumes of data, using advanced statistical methods including predictive statistical models, customer profiling, segmentation analysis, survey design, analysis, and data mining.


• Build recommendation and optimization algorithmic designs, perform data retrieval, complexity analysis, and scientific computing.


• Program using our tech stack including Python, PySpark, Matplotlib, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and other industry-standard tools.


• Perform machine learning techniques, and supervised and unsupervised algorithms to build predictive models and prescriptive solutions to support diverse business use cases.


• Build algorithms including decision trees, regression, XGBoost, K-means, and anomaly detection. Apply interpretable ML and Bayesian theory to solve complex business challenges.


• Utilize Cloud Computing on Azure/Databricks, querying in Snowflake to build scalable data solutions.


• Utilize software tools and methodologies including GitHub, continuous integration and delivery, and agile methodologies.


• Collaborate with finance, researchers, software developers, and business leaders to define product requirements and provide analytical support.


• Communicate verbally and in writing to business clients and management team with diverse levels of technical expertise, educating them about our systems, while sharing insights and recommendations that drive business growth.

What We're Looking For

We seek a candidate who thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment and is passionate about using data to solve complex business problems. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in quantitative methods and the ability to translate technical insights into actionable business strategies.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of four years of experience in data science, machine learning, quantitative or computational capabilities; OR High School/GED and a minimum of seven years of experience in data science, machine learning, quantitative or computational capabilities.


• M.S. in STEM, Computer Science, Information Systems, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Machine Learning, or similar field.


• At least four years of experience working with large-scale, complex datasets to create/optimize machine learning, predictive, forecasting, and/or optimization models.


• Advanced experience in SQL, Python, PySPark or other programming languages.


• Advanced degree of skill in exploratory data analysis, feature engineering and selection, detecting patterns, analyzing distributions, visualizing results, and extracting insights to help businesses make informed data-driven decisions.


• Experience using decision trees, and building classifiers.


• Experience with supervised learning techniques (linear and logistic regression, time series modeling, generalized linear models, decision trees, support vector machines, etc.) and unsupervised learning techniques (K-means, hierarchical clustering, association rules, principal components).


• Experience with Cloud ML systems, distributed computing, data pipelines, cloud data stores and serving engines.


• Experience designing and analyzing A/B experiments.


• Advanced degree of skill in conveying rigorous technical standards and issues to non-experts.


• Experience working in dynamic environments and operating with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering results.


• Experience effectively communicating technical solutions and advocating to data scientists, engineering teams and business audiences.


• At least two years of experience contributing to financial decisions within the workplace.


• At least two years of direct management, indirect management and/or cross-functional team management experience.


• Willing to travel up to/at least 10% of the time for business purposes (within the country and internationally).

Preferred Qualifications

• Ph.D. in STEM, Computer Science, Information Systems, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Machine Learning, or similar field.


• Experience working with IoT and Edge AI is a plus.


• Experience in Reinforcement Learning is a plus.


• Experience in Healthcare industry is a plus.
