What You'll Do

As a Senior Data Science Analyst at arenaflex, you will play a pivotal role in driving our recommendation systems forward through rigorous analysis, experimentation, and innovation. Your days will be filled with intellectual challenges and the satisfaction of seeing your insights directly influence how customers shop online.

• Run unconditional exploratory data analysis to identify novel ideas and opportunities that can revolutionize our recommendation strategies


• Design, execute, and analyze the results of A/B trials of new recommendation algorithms and techniques; develop new testing and test analysis methodologies


• Proactively monitor our recommendation models to identify potential issues, determine root causes, and implement effective resolutions


• Construct new tools that allow us to be more productive and efficient in our analytical processes


• Work closely and build productive relationships with our product, engineering, and AI partners across multiple departments


• Deliver key insights and recommendations to cross-functional executive leaders throughout the organization


• Perform KPI reporting and monitoring, including anomaly detection tools and advanced measurement approaches


• Conduct exploratory data analysis (such as clustering/segmentation) to generate new insights and inform our product recommendation roadmap


• Utilize and enhance our in-house automated tools, including QA instruments designed to better understand the performance of new algorithms before A/B testing

What You'll Need

We are seeking a candidate who combines technical excellence with business acumen and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of analytical success and a passion for data-driven decision making.

Essential Qualifications:

• 2+ years of professional experience in an analytical role (in addition to any graduate education)


• Analytical or Data Science experience with e-commerce companies is strongly preferred


• In-depth experience with SQL (complete capabilities, query optimization, stored procedures, string parsing, Vertica/Hive/Voila/Flash, etc.) – required


• In-depth experience with Python and Python tools (Jupyter notebooks, functions, pandas, sklearn, matplotlib, etc.) – required


• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative nature and highly cooperative attitude


• Ability to collaborate and proactively communicate with stakeholders at all levels


• Proven history of taking ownership and driving results; thrive in a fast-moving environment


• Strong business acumen, analytical capabilities, and technical proficiency alongside exceptional problem-solving skills

Highly Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with experimental design (A/B tests) and statistical analysis to drive business decision-making


• Knowledge and experience utilizing machine learning algorithms/techniques (decision trees, random forest, deep learning, etc.) within a business setting


• Advanced degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field


• Experience with big data technologies and cloud platforms


• Background in search relevance or recommendation systems
