About the Role
The Senior Data Optimization Analyst is responsible for helping the Advanced Analytics & Optimization running environment thrive. This role will work with different AAO groups to design, implement, and maintain core capability and solutions which can be leveraged throughout the AAO region and other internal organizations. This role within AAO ensures that technology and information are delivered to requesting partners in a timely fashion. The role also serves as the supporting aid for maintaining the AAO analytics software environment and managing the delivery of AAO development analytic solutions.
What You'll Do
- Expand Data Ingestion Capabilities: Focus on increasing the data ingest footprint to include new data assets and Consumer Products information in line with the MSAO information roadmap. You'll be instrumental in identifying new data sources and integrating them seamlessly into our analytics ecosystem.
- Automate Data Quality Processes: Build object-level automatic policies to discover and rectify data quality troubles, allowing lineage to be tracked and tested from ingest through end use within one day of ingestion. Your work will ensure data integrity and reliability across all downstream applications.
- Design End-to-End Data Mapping: Build End-to-End data mapping for brand-new data tables and coordinate the handoff to the development group for code review and load implementation. You'll serve as the bridge between data architects and development teams.
- Implement ETL Processes: Design and implement ETL processes for internal DPEP business data to be used in modeling and reporting. You'll create efficient data pipelines that transform raw data into analytics-ready formats.
- Support Production Systems: Assist with the maintenance of production Source data ingest, ETL processes, and batch schedules. You'll ensure uninterrupted data flow and quick resolution of any issues that arise.
What You'll Need
- Minimum Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional work experience in data analytics, engineering, or related fields.
- Cloud Expertise: Experience with developing and deploying in cloud-native environments, ideally AWS cloud and/or Snowflake (1-3 years). You should be comfortable working with cloud infrastructure and understanding of cloud-based data architectures.
- ETL and Programming Skills: Working expertise in ETL application design, data, infrastructure architecture disciplines and languages including Python, R, JAVA, and SQL. You'll need to be proficient in at least one programming language and have a strong foundation in data processing.
- Advanced SQL Capabilities: Advanced SQL experience developing complex queries and tuning (2+ years). You should be able to write optimized queries that handle large datasets efficiently.
- Programming Proficiency: Programming experience in Python or R (1-3 years). These languages are essential for data manipulation, analysis, and automation tasks.
- Data Architecture Knowledge: Demonstrated expertise in Data Architecture, Data Warehousing, Advanced Analytics, or Data Science implementations such as Data Modeling and Data Cataloguing. Understanding of data warehouse concepts and best practices is crucial.
- Data Modeling Experience: Data Modeling experience with ERWin or other enterprise-standard DM tool (2+ years). You'll be responsible for designing logical and physical data models that support business requirements.
- Data Cataloguing Skills: Data Cataloguing experience with Informatica Metadata Manager, Alation, or other enterprise-standard cataloguing tools (2+ years). Experience with data governance and metadata management is highly valued.
- Communication Skills: Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize and present complex analytics to senior leadership. You must be able to translate technical concepts into business language.
What Will Set You Apart
- Extended Experience: 3+ years of professional work experience in data analytics, engineering, or a related discipline.
- Industry Background: Prior work experience within a media company or analytics consulting firm. Understanding of media and entertainment data ecosystems is a significant advantage.
- Full Lifecycle Experience: Demonstrated product and delivery experience across all levels in the solutions of data control solutions – from data sourcing to end-state delivery/consumption. You've seen projects through from conception to completion.
- Solution Integration Skills: Proven ability to leverage and integrate technology components into a comprehensive solution architecture in support of business requirements. You can see the big picture and connect disparate technologies.
- Agile Methodology: Experience delivering in team environments using Agile framework. You're familiar with Scrum, Kanban, or other Agile methodologies.
- DevOps Practices: Experience with Git, Continuous Integration and associated tools. Understanding of version control and CI/CD pipelines.
- Testing Expertise: Demonstrated unit testing and integration testing skills. You write code that's tested and maintain high quality standards.
Required Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in statistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering or operations research. Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
