What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Data Engineer at arenaflex, you'll play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining our event-driven data infrastructure. This is a hands-on technical role that requires deep expertise in AWS services and a passion for building robust data solutions. Here's what you can expect:

• Design and Build Event-Driven Data Pipelines: Architect and implement scalable data pipelines using Amazon EventBridge, AWS Lambda, and AWS Step Functions. You'll ensure these pipelines are reliable, performant, and capable of handling real-time data streams.


• Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with product managers, data scientists, and business analysts to understand their data requirements and translate them into technical solutions that meet business needs.


• Ensure Data Quality and Security: Implement robust data quality checks, monitoring, and validation processes to ensure data integrity. You'll also establish security best practices to protect sensitive information throughout the data lifecycle.


• Optimize Performance and Cost: Continuously monitor and optimize data pipelines for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency. You'll leverage AWS best practices and emerging technologies to minimize costs while maximizing throughput.


• Stay Ahead of the Curve: Keep up-to-date with the latest AWS innovations and industry trends. Evaluate new services and tools that can enhance our data infrastructure and drive innovation.


• Develop Personalization Algorithms: Create and implement personalization algorithms using Python and Pydantic models to deliver tailored experiences to our customers.


• Build and Maintain NoSQL Databases: Design and manage DynamoDB tables and other NoSQL databases to support our high-velocity data workloads.


• Work with Streaming Data: Utilize Amazon Kinesis to collect, process, and analyze streaming data in real-time, enabling near-instant insights and responses.

What We're Looking For: Qualifications & Skills

Minimum Qualifications (Required)

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field – or equivalent practical experience.


• 3+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, with a focus on building and maintaining data pipelines at scale.


• Strong proficiency in Python, with experience using popular data processing libraries and frameworks.


• Deep understanding of AWS event-driven services, including Amazon EventBridge, AWS Lambda, and AWS Step Functions.


• Experience with NoSQL databases, particularly DynamoDB, and a solid grasp of NoSQL data modeling principles.


• Familiarity with Amazon Kinesis for real-time data streaming and processing.


• Strong understanding of data modeling, data quality, and data security best practices.


• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.


• Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Knowledge of personalization and recommendation systems, including experience with Python and Pydantic models.


• Proven track record of optimizing data pipelines for performance and cost.


• Experience with data governance and compliance frameworks.

Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.

• AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are a plus.
