This is a exceptional opportunity to contribute to the backbone of our subscriber communication infrastructure while working alongside brilliant minds in data science, engineering, and business operations.
Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced data professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is passionate about using data to drive meaningful business outcomes. As a Senior Data Analyst at arenaflex, you will play a critical role in managing subscriber messaging and remediation efforts across our streaming platforms. Your work will directly impact millions of subscribers, ensuring they receive timely, accurate, and legally compliant communications about their accounts.
This position requires a unique blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and cross-functional collaboration skills. You will serve as a key liaison between our data engineering teams and business stakeholders, translating complex technical requirements into actionable insights and reliable subscriber communications.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Data Analyst at arenaflex, you will be entrusted with several mission-critical responsibilities that keep our streaming services running smoothly and our subscribers informed:
- Subscriber Messaging Management: Oversee the ingestion and documentation of data requirements related to subscriber messaging initiatives, including cost increases, subscriber plan changes, and new data collection efforts. Ensure that every subscriber receives the appropriate communication at the right time.
- Incident Remediation: Identify subscribers impacted by platform incidents requiring remedial action. Collaborate with incident management, Business Operations, and engineering teams to ensure subscriber account integrity and that customers receive appropriate credits or refunds when warranted.
- SQL Query Development: Develop complex queries based on required business logic, including legally binding determinations, to accurately identify subscriber cohorts for messaging and remediation purposes. Your queries will power communications that reach millions of subscribers.
- Cross-Functional Communication: Translate business requirements into technical specifications for engineering teams while providing concise summaries of technical progress, challenges, and roadblocks to business stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Technical Infrastructure Expertise: Build and maintain a deep understanding of subscriber data architecture and the technical systems that underpin our subscriber information infrastructure. Become the go-to expert for data lineage and system dependencies.
- Project Planning & Delivery: Manage project planning and timelines while overseeing cross-functional delivery to ensure readiness for critical business events, product launches, and seasonal peaks in subscriber activity.
- Process Optimization: Drive alignment across Data, Business Operations, and Finance teams through the development of robust communication processes and operational playbooks that scale with our growing subscriber base.
- Reporting Solutions: Collaborate with Data Product and Data Quality Engineering teams to design robust reporting solutions that minimize data incidents and provide accurate, real-time insights into subscriber metrics and communications performance.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you must bring a strong foundation of technical skills and professional experience:
- Technical Experience: A minimum of 2 years of professional experience developing in SQL, with specific expertise in ETL processing pipelines. You should be comfortable writing complex queries, optimizing performance, and working with large datasets.
- Analytical Background: At least 2 years of experience in analytical roles, demonstrating your ability to derive insights from data and translate them into actionable business recommendations.
- Communication Skills: Proven experience delivering technical and analytical concepts to diverse audiences, ranging from executive leadership to technical engineering teams. You must be able to present complex information clearly and persuasively.
- Programming Knowledge: Familiarity with Python, R, or other statistical programming languages for data analysis and visualization.
- Data Visualization Tools: Hands-on experience with data analysis and visualization platforms such as Tableau, Looker, Chartio, or similar tools to create compelling dashboards and reports.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities, with a track record of building effective relationships across functional teams.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications will help you stand out and excel in this role:
- Statistical Expertise: Strong understanding of statistical concepts including hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and experimental design. Experience applying these concepts to real-world business problems.
- Advanced Education: Master's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline, which demonstrates deeper expertise in analytical methodologies.
- Workflow Automation: Knowledge of Apache Airflow or similar workflow orchestration platforms for managing data pipelines and scheduled jobs.
- Streaming Industry Experience: Familiarity with subscription-based business models, streaming media platforms, or direct-to-consumer (DTC) services.
- Regulatory Compliance: Understanding of legal and regulatory requirements related to consumer communications, data privacy, and subscriber notifications.
Skills & Competencies
Beyond technical qualifications, we value candidates who demonstrate the following competencies:
- Analytical Thinking: The ability to approach complex problems methodically, break them down into manageable components, and develop data-driven solutions.
- Attention to Detail: A commitment to accuracy and precision, recognizing that errors in subscriber communications can have significant legal and reputational consequences.
- Adaptability: The flexibility to thrive in a dynamic environment where priorities may shift and new challenges emerge regularly.
- Initiative: A proactive mindset that drives you to identify opportunities for improvement rather than waiting to be asked.
- Collaboration: Genuine enjoyment of team-based work and the ability to contribute effectively to cross-functional projects.
- Time Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet tight deadlines.
