Position Overview: Senior Business Data Analyst

As a Chief, Business Counseling within the Income Integrity COE association at arenaflex, you will be driving key transformation initiatives focused on electronic clinical record data extraction, reconciliation and aggregation, and financial and operational reporting. This senior-level position offers significant visibility across the organization and the opportunity to influence critical business processes that impact millions of members.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities in this role will include:


  • Providing strategic guidance and direction to external vendors, external consultants, colleagues, and/or matrixed staff as needed to support Income Integrity Individual and Family Plan (IFP) Chance Change Income Integrity initiatives.

  • Leading the reconciliation of data from various sources, including coding survey results and clinical record images, while simultaneously identifying gaps and recommending improvements to increase efficiency throughout the process.

  • Serving as the business lead for system design and testing new capabilities, as well as supporting evaluation activities related to vendor reconciliation of coding results and clinical record images and other technical projects.

  • Driving change initiatives related to system enhancements and fixes, ensuring seamless implementation and adoption.

  • Understanding interdependencies both process-wise and timing-wise to further business objectives and ensure alignment across teams.

  • Utilizing your expertise and experience to derive meaningful insights from complex datasets, transforming raw data into valuable business intelligence.

  • Supporting coordination across shared services and vendors to ensure data integrity and establish robust data validation processes.

  • Responsible for reviewing assignments including documenting and evaluating critical controls.

  • Understanding strategies, results, and business impacts; documenting and expressing such understanding in both written and verbal formats.

  • Conducting periodic updates of analytical schedules and division production systems.

  • Researching and evaluating alternative solutions to address business needs and improve operational efficiency.

  • Supporting over one million IFP members through rigorous vendor data quality and viability management; ensuring data is ingested into systems to drive entries; resolving all system validation errors to guarantee submission satisfaction.

  • Analyzing and understanding advanced recovery to maximize results.

  • Customizing Income Integrity reporting perspectives and outreach director data required for daily operations work.

Required Qualifications & Skills

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:


  • Proven experience with IT application development lifecycles and methodologies.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence others by transforming data into meaningful and actionable information.

  • Strong proficiency in SAS/SAS EG/Python/SQL Server for data analysis and manipulation.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.

  • Proven vendor management experience with the ability to coordinate multiple external partners effectively.

  • Excellent negotiation skills to drive favorable outcomes with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Experience documenting business processes and recommending and implementing improvement strategies.

  • Ability to perform testing functions with a systematic approach to quality assurance.

  • Participation in system design initiatives from conception through implementation.

  • Capacity to verify the accuracy of reporting against source documents, reports, and databases.

  • Ability to implement auditing procedures to ensure compliance and data integrity.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications would be considered a strong plus:


  • Experience in the healthcare industry, particularly with pharmacy benefit management or health insurance operations.

  • Knowledge of electronic clinical record systems and medical coding standards.

  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks in healthcare data management.

  • Advanced degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Statistics, or a related field.

  • Experience working in a remote or hybrid team environment.

  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
