As a Home Equity Loan Processor & Credit Specialist, you'll play a vital role in reviewing home equity loan applications and assisting arenaflex members in successfully closing their credit accounts. What You'll Do
As a key member of our Consumer Lending team, you'll be responsible for managing the complete lifecycle of home equity loans. Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Record Set-Up & Disclosure Management: Handle the complete setup for home equity loans, including providing appropriate disclosures to members, interviewing individuals about their credit terms, and thoroughly assessing loans for closing.
- Pipeline Management: Perform daily reviews on the Home Equity pipeline to ensure timely processing and maintain smooth workflow throughout the lending cycle.
- Closing Document Processing: Process closing documents for home equity credits with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Property Condition Reports: Process property condition reports for Home Equity Credits, ensuring all property-related documentation meets our standards and regulatory requirements.
- Employment Verification: Process verification of employment for Home Equity Loan applicants, confirming income stability and employment status as part of the lending decision process.
- Loan Booking: Perform booking of home equity loans in our system, ensuring all data is accurately captured and maintained.
- Data Entry & Reporting: Input home equity loan data into daily Excel spreadsheets and maintain comprehensive records for reporting and analysis purposes.
- Compliance & Security: Ensure the security and confidentiality of all account information necessary for your work, maintaining compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the Lending department and the organization.
All You'll Need for Success
Minimum Qualifications
Education & Prior Work Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience, preferably in a credit union environment
- Background in financial services, lending, or customer service is highly desirable
Preferred Qualifications
Education & Prior Work Experience:
- Experience in mortgage lending or home equity lending
- Prior customer service experience in a financial institution setting
- Post-secondary education in finance, business, or a related field
- Familiarity with credit union operations and member services
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) acquired through either work experience with the software or education and hands-on usage.
- System Knowledge: Knowledge of Credit Union and Episys System is preferred, with willingness to learn our proprietary systems quickly.
- Customer Service Excellence: Ability to exercise outstanding role and customer service skills, always putting member needs first.
- Communication Skills: Skilled in above-average interpersonal and communication skills with professional phone etiquette.
- Analytical Abilities: Capacity to perform basic mathematical calculations and analyze data accurately.
