Position Overview: Big Data Analyst

We're seeking a talented and motivated Big Data Analyst to join our dynamic data team. In this role, you'll serve as a critical bridge between complex data systems and business stakeholders. You'll enable version deployment, implement and maintain model accuracy, and monitor data drift across our enterprise. This is an intermediate-level internal consultant position responsible for driving the end-to-end lifecycle of data management across diverse systems, volumes, varieties, and speeds of data.

You'll be responsible for understanding complex business challenges and translating them into data requirements. Your work will involve acquiring data, performing sophisticated analysis, and delivering insights that shape strategic decisions across the organization. Key Responsibilities

• Lead Complex Data Integration Initiatives: Drive sophisticated self-service data integration projects that consolidate information from disparate sources, making it readily accessible to business clients including data scientists, analysts, and analytic users across the organization.


• Advance Analytics Capabilities: Lead informal teams in applying advanced data integration methodologies and tools to large datasets, creating solutions that support descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics.


• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Drive meaningful interaction with functional leaders across multiple concurrent projects, ensuring alignment between technical solutions and business objectives.


• Communication Excellence: Drive the development and communication of solutions and options to technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex findings into actionable insights.


• Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert for data assets, monitoring the ongoing effectiveness of data assets in self-service environments and recommending improvements.


• Community Contribution: Support the continued development of the arenaflex data technology center and community, fostering knowledge sharing and best practices.


• Continuous Learning: Stay current with emerging technologies, methodologies, and industry trends, applying new knowledge to improve our data capabilities.


• Additional Duties: Perform other job responsibilities as directed by leadership, contributing to the overall success of the data team and organization.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

To excel in this role, you'll need a solid foundation in analytical thinking and problem-solving:

• Analytical Reasoning: Intermediate knowledge of both inductive and deductive reasoning and problem-solving approaches, with the ability to apply logical frameworks to complex business challenges.


• Statistical Application: Intermediate knowledge in evaluating and applying appropriate data analytics and statistical methods for business problems, ensuring accuracy and relevance in your analyses.


• Database Proficiency: Intermediate knowledge of obtaining and ingesting data in both relational and non-SQL databases, with the flexibility to work across diverse data environments.


• Data Processing: Intermediate knowledge in integrating, storing, and processing large volumes of data necessary for analysis and modeling, ensuring data quality and accessibility.


• Programming Expertise: Skilled in one or more data programming languages and open-source tools, with the ability to write efficient, maintainable code.


• BI Tools: Skilled in one or more data integration and business intelligence tools, enabling effective data visualization and reporting.


• Technical Architecture: Skilled in technology systems and architectures relevant to developing and maintaining self-service data assets.


• Critical Thinking: Skilled in critical thinking and project management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.


• Communication: Ability to engage effectively with strong verbal and written communication skills, tailored for both technical and non-technical audiences.


• Adaptability: Ability to adjust appropriately to a variety of circumstances and change approaches/techniques when necessary to meet objectives efficiently and effectively.

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or comparable fields of study; or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.

Experience Requirements

We're looking for candidates with advanced degree experience and pro, specialized knowledge in the following areas:

• Data analysis, advanced analytics, data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or optimization project experience


• Data pipeline, data technology, and/or relevant programming experience


• Visualization and presentation development and delivery


• Solving ambiguous and complex problems through systems thinking approaches

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following experience would be highly valued:

• Experience with AWS technologies including SageMaker, Model Monitor, Redshift, DynamoDB, and Aurora


• Experience with Python, SQL, Alteryx, Tableau, Teradata, Oracle, PostgreSQL Database, NoSQL, Linux, GitLab, CloudWatch, and QuickSight
