Position Overview

We are seeking a talented and motivated Data Analyst to join our Transportation Business Intelligence group. In this role, you will be instrumental in transforming raw data into actionable insights that drive strategic decisions across our transportation operations. You'll work directly with operational teams, finance, and product groups to provide the intelligence they need to keep our supply chain running smoothly and efficiently.

What You'll Do

As a Data Analyst at arenaflex, your contributions will directly influence the efficiency and effectiveness of our transportation network. Here's what you can expect in this role:

• Data Analysis & Insights: Work with large, complex, and diverse datasets to conduct ad-hoc investigations that inform critical business decisions quickly. You'll be the go-to person for answering time-sensitive questions from leadership and operational teams.


• ETL Development: Create and maintain ETL pipelines and processes that pull information from multiple sources and consolidate it into unified, actionable tables. You'll ensure data integrity and consistency across various systems.


• Data Visualization: Develop compelling dashboards using Tableau or similar tools to monitor and measure the impact of operational changes and unique business challenges. Your visualizations will help stakeholders understand performance metrics at a glance.


• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage with colleagues and cross-functional teams on a regular basis to establish credibility and build strong working relationships. You'll partner with Operations, Finance, and Product teams to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness across different projects and systems.


• Process Automation: Leverage scripting languages (Python preferred) to automate reporting activities, including screenshot generation, statistical prioritization, and anomaly detection. You'll help reduce manual effort and improve reporting efficiency.


• Knowledge Sharing: Document your processes and share your expertise with colleagues. Mentor team members as you develop into a subject matter expert, contributing to our culture of continuous learning and improvement.


• Business Acumen Development: Gain deep insights into transportation operations and supply chain management while enhancing your technical capabilities. You'll understand how data translates into business value.

What You'll Bring

Essential Qualifications

• Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related discipline.


• SQL Expertise: Strong SQL skills with the ability to manipulate data from multiple tables while maintaining data integrity. You should be comfortable writing complex queries, joins, and subqueries to extract meaningful insights.


• Business Operations Understanding: Ability to comprehend and diagnose business issues, identifying root causes and proposing data-driven solutions. A background in supply chain operations, preferably with transportation experience, is highly desirable.


• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex findings to non-technical stakeholders. You must be comfortable working cross-functionally with diverse teams.


• Customer Experience Focus: Creativity with a user-centered approach to develop meaningful Tableau dashboards that drive real business value and improve decision-making.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced experience with SQL and Tableau, including complex visualizations and dashboard development


• Experience with e-commerce operations or package carrier logistics


• Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages for automation and data processing


• Familiarity with data manipulation tools such as Knime, Alteryx, R, Tableau Prep, or similar platforms


• Understanding of transportation management systems and logistics operations


• Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments
