UK HealthCare is seeking a Pharmacist Program Coordinator to lead drug shortage preparedness and response for the Enterprise. This role involves monitoring national shortages, developing mitigation strategies, and coordinating implementation plans to ensure a reliable medication supply across various settings.
Responsibilities
- Lead drug shortage preparedness and response for the Enterprise, ensuring a safe and reliable medication supply across acute and ambulatory settings
- Monitor national shortages, develop mitigation strategies, and coordinate implementation of shortage mitigation plans
- Serve as the primary resource for shortage communication and collaborate with all stakeholders to optimize inventory utilization, procurement, and shortage response
- Lead shortage governance efforts, including chairing the Drug Shortage Task Force, facilitating routine shortage meetings, and developing and presenting related reports to leadership and stakeholders

- The physical requirements of this position include: occasionally lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects up to and over 25lbs; occasionally standing or walking with objects up to 15lbs; sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time while performing repetitive motions (such as typing); standing for extended periods of time, sometimes greater than 5 hours per day; and traversing several miles across and on campus for meetings and work on a regular basis
- Primarily Monday through Friday, 8am – 4:30pm. Weekends and holidays may periodically be required based on department demand
- The ideal candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills; strong data analytic skills; knowledge of inpatient drug distribution; knowledge of pharmacy supply chain and medication safety; knowledge of pharmacy and healthcare related regulations and standards; Microsoft Office experience
- Pharm D preferred; PGY1 and/or PGY2 Residency in Med Safety, Administration, or equivalent professional experience
