Position Overview: Lead Data Scientist – Retail Strategic Health Analytics
As a Lead Data Scientist at arenaflex, you will serve as a key contributor to our Retail Strategic Health Analytics division. This role goes beyond traditional data analysis – you'll be positioned as a thought leader who shapes the analytics strategy to address critical business priorities. You'll own and manage entire analytics workstreams, leading and mentoring other analysts and data scientists to build end-to-end analytical products that drive real business value.
In this position, you'll leverage your deep expertise in algorithms, predictive modeling, and statistical analysis to uncover hidden patterns, investigate complex problems, and recommend innovative solutions. You'll work closely with business partners across the organization to translate data insights into actionable strategies that enhance our retail health operations and improve customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Analytics Strategy Development: Collaborate with business partners to shape the analytics strategy that addresses key business priorities, including predictive modeling, statistical analysis, and metric development. Serve as a thought leader in defining how data can solve critical business challenges.
- Workstream Leadership: Own and manage analytics workstreams, leading cross-functional teams of analysts and data scientists to deliver comprehensive analytical products from concept to completion.
- Predictive Modeling & Analysis: Apply robust knowledge of algorithms and predictive models to recommend approaches, investigate complex issues, detect patterns, and propose data-driven solutions that advance business objectives.
- Advanced Statistical Analysis: Perform sophisticated analyses of both structured and unstructured data to solve multiple and complex business problems using advanced statistical techniques, mathematical analyses, and deep knowledge of the healthcare and retail industries.
- Data Exploration & Interpretation: Use strong programming skills to explore, examine, and interpret large volumes of data in various forms, transforming raw data into meaningful business insights.
- Presentation & Consultation: Develop and participate in presentations and consultations to effectively communicate analytics results and solutions to both internal and external stakeholders, translating technical concepts into business language.
- Mentorship & Team Development: Guide and mentor junior analysts and data scientists, fostering their professional growth and ensuring the quality and consistency of analytical outputs across the team.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: A minimum of 3+ years of relevant analytical experience in data science, business analytics, or a related field. This experience should demonstrate your ability to handle complex data challenges and deliver actionable insights.
- Programming Expertise: Hands-on experience programming using R or Python, with the ability to write efficient, scalable code for data analysis and modeling purposes.
- Database Skills: Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis from relational databases. Experience with query optimization and working with large datasets is essential.
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Physics, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
