Our Site Reliability Engineers sit at the heart of arenaflex's Platforms Engineering organization. We are the guardians of uptime, performance, and reliability across our entire digital ecosystem. What You'll Do

As a Junior Site Reliability Engineer at arenaflex, you'll play a critical role in maintaining the stability and performance of our products and infrastructure. You'll work alongside experienced engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure our systems remain available, reliable, and performant. Here's what you can expect:

• Monitoring & Incident Response: Monitor, identify, and respond to incidents of varying complexity across our infrastructure. You'll be responsible for detecting issues before they impact users and coordinating effective resolutions.


• System Builds & Configuration: Assist in building, configuring, patching, and upgrading our infrastructure systems. You'll gain hands-on experience with enterprise-grade systems and learn best practices for system administration.


• Problem Solving: Develop innovative and practical solutions to resolve non-routine problems. No two days will be the same, and you'll constantly be challenged to think creatively.


• Automation Development: Build tools to automate deployment, configuration, and monitoring processes. Automation is at the core of our SRE philosophy, and you'll help us reduce manual work and improve efficiency.


• Infrastructure Knowledge: Apply working knowledge of system policies, designs, and troubleshooting techniques to maintain robust infrastructure operations.


• Collaboration: Work closely with development teams, operations staff, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and operation of services.


• Scale Operations: Operate services at massive scale across our entire software, system, and network footprint in our data centers and multiple cloud providers.

What We're Looking For

Essential Qualifications

We're seeking candidates who bring a solid foundation in computer science or a related technical field. While we value academic credentials, we also recognize that real-world experience and demonstrated ability can be just as valuable. Here's what we need:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field; or equivalent industry experience. Recent graduates are highly welcome to apply!


• Linux Expertise: Strong experience with Linux and Operating System fundamentals. You should be comfortable working in a Linux environment and understanding system-level operations.


• Container Technology: Experience with container-based solutions like Docker. Understanding containerization principles and practical application is essential.


• Cloud Platforms: Knowledge of cloud best practices and services. Familiarity with major cloud providers and their core offerings will serve you well.


• Scripting Skills: Proficiency in at least one scripting language such as Python or JavaScript. You'll use these skills daily for automation and tool development.


• Communication: Ability to relate to non-technical audiences and collaborate effectively with engineers whose interests or experiences may differ from your own. Strong interpersonal skills are crucial for success in our team.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following skills and experiences would make you an even stronger candidate:

• Systems Programming: Knowledge of systems programming languages such as C, C++, Go, or Rust. These skills are valuable for building high-performance infrastructure tools.


• Networking: Experience with TCP/IP, HTTP, application security, monitoring, and storage technologies. Understanding networking fundamentals is essential for troubleshooting distributed systems.


• Container Orchestration: Experience with Kubernetes and container-based orchestration. These skills are increasingly important as we modernize our infrastructure.


• Additional Technical Skills: Any experience with distributed systems, microservices architecture, or large-scale data processing is a plus.
