Position Overview: Data Scientist Analyst

If so, arenaflex invites you to join our Digital Innovation team as a Data Scientist Analyst. This is an exciting opportunity for an entry-level data scientist who possesses a genuine enthusiasm for data and analytics—the curiosity to dive deep into details while maintaining the ability to see the bigger picture.

In this role, you will be responsible for executing solutions to business challenges using advanced data analysis, data mining, optimization tools, statistical modeling, and machine learning techniques. You will continuously develop and demonstrate increasingly sophisticated analytical methodologies while working alongside some of the brightest minds in the industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Business Problem Solving: Execute solutions for business problems using data analysis, data mining, optimization tools, statistical modeling, and machine learning techniques


• Advanced Analytics: Continuously develop and demonstrate more advanced analytical techniques and methodologies


• End-to-End Ownership: Demonstrate strong ownership skills and be comfortable owning data-driven projects from concept through to implementation


• Problem Definition: Understand business problems and available datasets to identify appropriate analytical and modeling techniques that answer critical business questions


• Insight Extraction: Extract meaningful insights from large volumes of data and clearly communicate actionable triggers and recommendations to stakeholders


• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work effectively both as part of a team and independently to achieve project objectives


• Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of analytical processes, methodologies, and findings

Essential Qualifications

• Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline


• Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of experience in modeling and machine learning


• Data Handling: Demonstrated comfort and intellectual curiosity for working with extremely large datasets, with hands-on experience in predictive modeling


• Programming Skills: Strong knowledge of either R or Python programming languages


• Data Manipulation: Proficiency in manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from various sources to uncover patterns and relationships


• Machine Learning Expertise: Understanding of when and how to apply predictive and machine learning techniques including logistic regression, random forests, gradient boosting machines (GBM), neural networks, and support vector machines (SVM)


• Database Proficiency: Skilled in using database querying tools with the ability to write complex queries and stored procedures using Teradata SQL and/or Microsoft T-SQL


• Communication Skills: Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis and algorithms in a clear, precise, and impactful manner


• Language Proficiency: Strong written and verbal English fluency; proficiency in Hindi (written and spoken) is a plus


• Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without requiring sponsorship


• Reliability: Reliable and consistent attendance is an essential requirement of this position

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, or MBA with analytical focus


• Hands-on experience with Big Data ecosystems including Hadoop/Spark


• Experience with API Gateways and unstructured data processing


• Knowledge of cloud computing platforms and distributed computing


• Understanding of airline industry operations and business processes


• Experience with visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms
