About the Role

As a Senior Analytics Engineer at arenaflex, you will collaborate closely with our internal IT information design and analytics teams to execute and maintain robust data foundation frameworks. This position is essential to enabling report automation for our Healthcare Quality Improvement program and supporting the commercialization of data and insights across arenaflex Health. You will work alongside a cross-functional team of data experts, Business Intelligence engineers, system administrators, and key stakeholders to deliver high-impact analytics solutions.

Key Responsibilities


  • Lead Data Delivery Initiatives: Direct the delivery of arenaflex Health data and insights drives and projects, ensuring timely and accurate outputs that support strategic decision-making across the organization.

  • Data Architecture Development: Plan, develop, and deploy layered databases and data pipelines to support complex reporting and analytics projects. Create efficient data architectures that scale with business needs.

  • ETL/ELT Excellence: Apply industry-leading data extraction, transformation, and loading best practices to integrate large datasets from various internal production system sources and third-party files, ensuring data integrity and consistency.

  • Data Modeling: Develop data planning and pre-processing standards for populating logical and physical data models attached to report-specific working tables, supporting both enterprise business intelligence and predefined reporting solutions.

  • Data Profiling & Analysis: Perform comprehensive data profiling and analysis across internal production systems, manually maintained data repositories, and standard healthcare datasets including member eligibility, clinical claims, pharmacy claims, and HEDIS ECDS records.

  • Automation Innovation: Create internal tools for automating all development-related activities including data processing, quality assurance, and data validation, driving efficiency across the analytics lifecycle.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams including data scientists, BI engineers, system administrators, and business users to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet diverse analytical needs.

  • Thought Leadership: Provide expertise and guidance on tool-agnostic semantic data layer enhancements related to BI technology platforms such as PowerBI, Tableau, or Looker.

Essential Qualifications


  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Healthcare Administration, or a related technical field.

  • Technical Expertise: Proven hands-on experience writing and tuning SQL-based ETL/ELT scripts with the ability to optimize complex data transformations for performance and reliability.

  • Data Platform Experience: Demonstrated experience planning and deploying logically separated data environments using ETL/ELT services including Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Snowflake, or comparable cloud-based data integration platforms.

  • BI Platform Proficiency: Experience providing thought leadership and presenting tool-agnostic semantic data layer improvements connected with BI technology platforms such as PowerBI, Tableau, or Looker.

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical teams, internal partners, clients, and vendor relationships.

  • Business Acumen: Minimum 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace, with the ability to understand the business impact of data solutions.

  • Leadership Experience: At least 2 years of direct leadership, indirect management, and/or cross-functional team leadership experience demonstrating the ability to guide teams toward common goals.

  • Travel Flexibility: Willing and able to travel up to 5% of the time for business purposes, including both intra-state and inter-state travel as needed.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Professional Certification: Data Management Certified Analysis Professional (CAP) credential or equivalent industry certification.

  • Healthcare Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with pharmacy, healthcare, and clinical research concepts, including understanding of healthcare data standards, clinical workflows, and regulatory requirements.

  • Healthcare Data Experience: Knowledge of healthcare datasets including member eligibility data, clinical claims, pharmacy claims, and performance measurement frameworks such as HEDIS (Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set).

Compensation & Benefits
