- Assist patients with completion of paperwork when necessary, providing clear guidance and support.
- Review scheduling systems for needed updated demographics and consent forms, scheduling appointments as required.
- Identify patients by date of birth and name in our computer system, creating new accounts as necessary.
- Schedule and reschedule appointments as needed, ensuring seamless communication with patients and staff.
- Demonstrate superior customer service skills, providing timely and polite responses to patient inquiries.
- Answer telephone calls in a timely and polite manner, preferably within three rings.
- Communicate with customers in a courteous, professional, cooperative, and mature manner, resolving issues and concerns.
- Take messages and convey accurate information to recipients, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.
- Transfer calls to physicians and nurses when medically indicated, maintaining confidentiality and discretion.
- Protect and observe patient confidentiality per policies and procedures, upholding the highest standards of data protection.
- Import registration documents into patient's electronic health record, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
- Follow up on outstanding A/R, including self-pay and denials, to achieve maximum payment and client profitability.
- Handle all correspondence related to insurance or patient accounts, contacting insurance carriers, patients, and other facilities as needed.
- Work with EDI transactions and ERA files, reconciling carrier submissions, edits, and rejection reports to ensure accurate and timely processing.
- *Essential Qualifications**
- 1-2 years of experience in customer service, preferably in the Healthcare Systems and Services industry.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to resolve complex issues and concerns.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
