Position Overview
As a Remote Customer Service Representative at aren'taflex, you'll be the frontline voice of our organization, handling inbound and outbound calls related to prescription benefits, eligibility inquiries, and pharmacy services. This role is both challenging and incredibly rewarding—you'll be solving complex issues while forming meaningful connections with members who depend on your expertise and empathy.
This is a full-time permanent position offering 35-40 hours per week with flexibility to work various shifts. You'll receive comprehensive training to set you up for success, and you'll be supported by a team that values your growth and development.
Key Responsibilities
Your day-to-day will be dynamic and engaging. Here's what you can expect:
- Handle Inbound Calls: Respond professionally to incoming calls from members regarding their prescription benefits, eligibility questions, and prescription status inquiries. You'll be the trusted resource they turn to for clarity and guidance.
- Educate and Inform: Guide customers through their prescription benefits, explaining plan details, formulary information, costs, and the status of their orders, claims, or inquiries. Your ability to communicate complex information clearly will be key.
- Active Listening and Documentation: Listen attentively to customer concerns while accurately documenting all necessary information in our computer systems. Precision matters here.
- Problem Resolution: Identify issues and present viable solutions and next steps to consumers, pharmacies, and physicians regarding prescription orders and reorders. Your critical thinking skills will shine here.
- Proactive Outreach: Make outbound calls to customers regarding prescription orders and reimbursement concerns. You'll be helping members stay informed and ahead of any issues.
- Multi-System Navigation: Research complex member prescription and pharmacy benefit information across multiple databases. This requires adept computer navigation skills and the ability to toggle between systems confidently.
- Empathetic Engagement: Interact with members and healthcare providers with confidence and compassion, ensuring every interaction leaves a positive impression.
Work Schedule and Availability
We understand that work-life balance is essential. Here's what our scheduling looks like:
- Hours: 35-40 hours per week (Sunday through Sunday)
- Shift Availability: Must be flexible to work any 8-hour shift during our standard business hours of 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM local time
- Training Period: 4-5 weeks of training, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CST
- Overtime: Occasional overtime may be required based on business needs
Required Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED (or higher), or comparable work experience
- Experience: At least 1 year of customer service experience, with specific experience providing service over the phone
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with computers and Windows PC applications, including the ability to navigate and learn new and complex computer system functions
- Microsoft Office Proficiency: Basic understanding of Microsoft Word (ability to open and navigate a word document) and Microsoft Excel (ability to open and navigate a spreadsheet)
- Schedule Flexibility: Ability to work any 8-hour shift during our business hours of Sunday through Sunday, 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM local time (Pacific or Mountain Time zones, depending on location)
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, these qualifications will help you excel:
- Prior call center experience
- Strong customer service background in any industry
- Experience with adult learning principles in a virtual/remote environment
- Familiarity with digital communication platforms and systems (internet, chat, email)
- Healthcare or insurance industry experience, including understanding of medical terminology, medical policy records, or benefit program design
- Background in community service, behavioral health, disease prevention, health promotion, or behavior change (experience working with vulnerable populations is a plus)

Since this is a work-from-home position, you'll need to meet the following requirements:

- Internet Connection: Must reside in a location that can receive a high-speed internet connection approved by aren'taflex or leverage an existing high-speed internet service
- Wired Connection: Must be able to connect directly to the internet via hardwire (either directly to the modem or router)—no wireless-only connections
