At arenaflex, we believe that healthcare should be accessible, understandable, and compassionate. As a Fortune 5 company, we've built our reputation on innovation, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to improving the health and well-being of millions of Americans. Our Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) division sits at the heart of this mission, serving as a critical link between patients, pharmacies, and insurance providers. We are currently seeking dedicated professionals to join our support teams and help members navigate their prescription benefits with confidence and ease.

This is not your typical customer service job. This is an opportunity to become a trusted resource for individuals seeking clarity about their healthcare coverage. Every interaction you have will impact someone's health journey, and your ability to provide empathetic, knowledgeable support can make all the difference in their experience. If you're looking for work that matters, look no further than arenaflex.

About the Role: What You'll Do

As a Pharmacy Benefits Customer Service Representative at arenaflex, you will be the voice of compassion and expertise for our members. Your primary responsibility is to assist callers with understanding and utilizing their pharmacy benefit plans effectively. This role requires active listening, problem-solving skills, and a genuine desire to help others.

In this position, you will handle inbound calls from members who have questions about their prescription insurance coverage, medication benefits, and mail-order pharmacy services. Your role is to ensure that each caller gains a clear understanding of their coverage options, helping them make informed decisions about their healthcare. By resolving questions on the first call, you will contribute to member satisfaction while reducing overall call volume.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Answering Inbound Calls: Respond to member inquiries regarding prescription insurance, medication coverage, and pharmacy benefits with professionalism and empathy.

  • Coverage Explanation: Translate complex insurance terminology into clear, understandable language that empowers members to make informed healthcare decisions.

  • Mail Order Support: Assist members with setting up and managing mail-order prescription services, ensuring they understand the process and benefits.

  • Problem Resolution: Troubleshoot issues related to claims, coverage denials, and medication accessibility, finding creative solutions that meet member needs.

  • Documentation: Accurately document all interactions in our customer relationship management system to maintain comprehensive member records.

  • Compliance Adherence: Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and governmental compliance requirements throughout all interactions.

  • Product Knowledge: Stay current with arenaflex policies, procedures, and benefit plan details to provide accurate information.

  • First-Call Resolution: Strive to resolve member questions and concerns during the initial contact, minimizing the need for follow-up interactions.

What We're Looking For: Qualifications & Skills

At arenaflex, we value diverse backgrounds and believe that great customer service professionals come from all walks of life. Whether you have experience in call centers, retail, hospitality, or even military service, we want to hear from you. We provide comprehensive training to ensure your success, so while healthcare experience is preferred, it's not mandatory.

Required Qualifications:

  • Customer Interaction Experience: A minimum of six months experience in a customer-facing role, which can include call center environments, retail positions, customer service positions, hospitality industry roles, or military service experience.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to listen actively and respond clearly and professionally.
  • Technical Aptitude: Basic computer skills and the ability to navigate multiple software applications simultaneously.
  • Education: Verifiable High School diploma, GED, or equivalent certification.
  • Home Office Requirements: Reliable high-speed internet connection meeting our speed requirements, along with a dedicated, distraction-free workspace that maintains confidentiality.
  • Availability: Flexibility to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays, within our operational hours.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Call Center Experience: One or more years of experience working in a fast-paced call center environment.

  • Healthcare Background: Previous experience in the healthcare industry or familiarity with medical terminology, insurance concepts, and pharmacy operations.

  • Remote Work Experience: Prior experience working from home in a customer service capacity, demonstrating self-motivation and strong time management.

  • Healthcare Certification: Possession of relevant healthcare certifications such as Medical Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, or similar credentials is a plus.

Skills That Drive Success

Beyond formal qualifications, success in this role requires a specific set of interpersonal skills and personal attributes. At arenaflex, we look for candidates who embody our core values and demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Empathy and Compassion: The ability to put yourself in the member's shoes and understand their concerns, especially when they may be dealing with health challenges or frustrating situations.

  • Patience and Resilience: Maintaining composure when dealing with upset or confused callers, and the perseverance to work through complex issues until resolution.

  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Critical thinking skills that allow you to analyze situations quickly and develop effective solutions under pressure.

  • Adaptability: The flexibility to handle unexpected situations and the willingness to learn new processes and systems.

  • Attention to Detail: Precision in documentation and accuracy when providing information about benefits and coverage.

  • Time Management: Efficiently managing your schedule and call volume while maintaining quality service standards.
