Position Overview

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Customer Service Representative to join our remote team. In this role, you will be responsible for processing patient information, handling prescription data entry, and providing exceptional support to both internal and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Enrollment Processing: Utilize arenaflex's prescription data entry procedures and guidelines to process new patient enrollments accurately. Enter all required information into the appropriate systems while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Prescription Management: Handle patient medication requests within strict HIPAA guidelines. Enter refill orders for processing and ensure all prescription information is correctly documented in our pharmacy systems.

  • Data Accuracy and Research: Investigate and obtain missing prescription information when necessary. Interpret clinical abbreviations and SIG codes to ensure proper prescription processing and patient safety.

  • Exception Resolution: Resolve all data entry-related exceptions and discrepancies. Address any issues that arise during the enrollment or prescription processing workflow.

  • Patient Communication: Handle various forms of correspondence with patients, including inbound calls, chat messages, and emails. Make outbound calls to prescribers and patients as needed to gather information or follow up on requests.

  • Third-Party Issue Resolution: Evaluate, collect information, and resolve third-party insurance issues and rejections. Make necessary corrections and resubmit claims for processing according to individual plan requirements.

  • Pharmacist Support: Provide comprehensive assistance to pharmacists, both those in our offices and those at other locations. Identify and escalate issues to senior-level staff as appropriate.

  • Compliance and Licensing: Acquire and maintain an active pharmacy technician license or certification within the first 90 days of employment, as required by state regulations.

Required Qualifications and Skills

To succeed in this role, candidates must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:


  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required.

  • Computer Proficiency: Basic level computer skills are essential, including the ability to start up and shut down computers, use mouse navigation, start and close programs, switch between applications, save documents, print reports, and access information online.

  • Internet Navigation: Proficiency with web browsers and search engines. You should be comfortable opening browsers, entering URLs correctly, using search engines effectively, bookmarking websites, navigating using back/forward/stop buttons, and completing online forms.

  • Typing Skills: Intermediate-level keyboarding abilities with a minimum typing speed of 25 words per minute. Ability to type from memory and format documents professionally.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. You must be able to convey information clearly, professionally, and effectively to both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Attention to Detail: Strong ability to maintain accuracy while processing large volumes of data. Must be meticulous in entering patient information and prescription details.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  • Pharmacy Experience: At least one year of pharmacy technician experience in a retail or call center environment. This background provides valuable familiarity with pharmacy operations, terminology, and patient interactions.

  • Certification: Minimum of 18 months experience as a pharmacy technician with current certification/registration as granted by the state Board of Pharmacy or a nationally recognized certification organization.

  • Customer Service Excellence: Demonstrated experience providing customer support to both internal and external clients. Evidence of meeting quality standards for service delivery and understanding of customer satisfaction measurement.

  • Advanced Typing Skills: Moderate to advanced-level keyboarding abilities with a minimum typing speed of 35 words per minute. Ability to type from memory and professionally format documents.

  • Language Skills: Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English. Strong verbal and written communication abilities in both languages will be a significant advantage in serving our diverse patient population.

  • Healthcare Software Knowledge: Familiarity with pharmacy management systems, electronic health records, or other healthcare-related software platforms.
